*BASED IN NYC. Lessons in person or online*
*NOT a classical singing teacher.*
*Author of “How To Sing Without Thinking.”*
I teach contemporary singing. I specialize in helping singers find and hone their unique voice. I am not about gimmicks, tricks, or false promises. I guide you into singing with minimal strain, developing vocal power, expanding range, and drastically improving your tone.
I think of the voice like the body; the more precisely you exercise (vocalize), the stronger (more powerful), more flexible (more range) and more fit (better tone) you get.
One of the best perks is that once you get vocally fit, you become confident and not self-conscious about your singing.
Just like when you are physically fit, you feel much better about the way you look. When you are vocally fit, you feel much better about the way you sound.
I specialize in pop, rock, R&B, gospel, jazz, musical theater, country, metal, and all singing styles that use a microphone.
I work with adults and teenagers over 14 with good attention spans and high motivation.
Let’s get you vocally fit and comfortable so you can sing with security and pride!

⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
I’m Emily Goulazian, founder and guiding spirit of Emily’s Music Studio. As a professional performer and voice teacher, I created this studio with one clear mission: to help singers unlock the full potential of their voice by combining grounded technique with intuitive, expressive freedom.
Our studio differs from many others in one key way: we believe that voice training is not just about “sounding better”—it’s about connecting more deeply with yourself. While technique is absolutely essential, it will only take you so far. Singing is a skill developed through procedural learning—consistent repetition and muscle memory—but it’s also a deeply intuitive and human act, born from speech, emotion, and the instinct to communicate.
At Emily’s Music Studio, you’ll learn not just how to sing correctly—you’ll learn how to sing honestly. We help singers tap into their natural instincts, work through tension, and access the voice through body awareness, emotional connection, and vocal play. Because when you’re emotionally connected, your voice opens up in ways that technique alone can’t unlock.
Whether you’re just starting out, coming back after a break, or preparing for a professional career, we meet you exactly where you are. Our goal is to help you feel confident, free, and fully expressed through your voice.

Please note: I would be very happy to work with you and help you improve your voice. But please note that my studio is in Manhattan on West 66th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. So if you would like to choose me, please be sure that you are willing to travel into Manhattan if you live further away. Much thanks!
If you want to learn about your voice and improve your range and repertoire, I believe your will work well with me. I teach a solid vocal and acting technique and my students improve quickly (if they are committed and work hard!) I also have a voice class once a month so my students get a chance to perform their audition/performance pieces and receive acting direction.
I love music and performing - it feels me with joy. I enjoy so much now, teaching others what I've learned throughout my life. It is wonderful to see how my students improve and find their voice and confidence.
I charge $80 for an hour lesson.

With a command of biomechanics and acoustics of vocal production I aim to help students along a path toward functional, effortless and lasting technique. "Technique" can sound scary but I love helping students understand their voice so that they can clearly communicate as an artist! I am jazzed about a holistic approach to performing which is why I incorporate functional breathing and manual manipulation techniques into my sessions for deeper discovery.
