Hello. My name is Ash. I am a nonbinary soprano who has loved singing since I was a little kid. I loved music and singing so much I ended up going to music college & getting my B.M. with a specialty in the area of singing from the Dr. Grier Williams School of Music at the University of West Florida. In general, I have been teaching 1 on 1 voice for almost 7 years & have taught multiple styles of singing, hence the name singing spectrum. I have had several students have successful auditions that range from musical productions to different Florida All State Choirs. I like my students to feel accepted and safe in their lessons with me & like they can ask me anything. If you are interested in more help with singing, sight reading, and techniques, please feel free to message me about my rates & availability. Please feel free to message me to ask for more details regarding pricing and times. I hope to hear from & maybe even meet you on here soon.

I am able to bring out the specific vocal timbre of each voice. I don't impose a fixed idea of a "my" sound on anyone. Rather will bring out the uniqueness and beauty of your instrument. I think my students should sing music they love and start to apply the technique right away to get the joy of singing! I am thrilled when a student is able to sing freely and express themselves with ease! My students have gone on to having successful careers in everything from pop, jazz, musical theater to opera.

I have been teaching for over 15 years. I teach privately full-time and run my own company in NYC. We offer internet lessons for students all over the world. If you are interested in in-person lessons, we offer this service in NYC and Westchester County. I personally hire other enthusiastic and experienced music teachers to work with me. I believe learning music should be fun. While it also takes hard work and dedication, a student must first enjoy music in order to continue and progress. My teachers and I incorporate well-known songs into lessons so that students can relate to what they are learning. We also use many of our own games and worksheets to keep students engaged at all times. We offer many different types of lessons including singing, piano, acting, guitar, songwriting, and much more. We also offer two (optional) recitals each year so that students can showcase what they have learned. I love watching students of all ages progress and accomplish things they never thought they could accomplish. This helps them to grow not only as a musician, but also as a person. I have watched all of our students become more confident as their lessons progress. It's exciting because music education is so much more than just teaching students notes on a page.

As an active professional singer in New York City and around the world, (Opera, Oratorio, as a soloist, as a choral singer, and as a choral conductor) I have served as a voice teacher to countless students for over 30 years. Several of my students have gone on to have active professional singing careers (classical and non-classical), including The Metropolitan Opera (where I also occasionally sing with the chorus) to non-traditional positions with Disney, pop and rock bands, and other audition/competition-based entities. I have been teacher to young students, older amateurs, and professional colleagues. I love singing, and I love helping those who also love singing to renew and improve doing what they love. Bringing my own joy for the art of vocal performance and expertise as a performer and interpreter to adults as well as younger students and even beginners helps me make a difference in the world.
