"Your voice at its best!" We provide the following: * Classical voice instruction for all ages and voice types * Adult voice tuneup * Studio and solo recitals * Audition/contest preparation * Performance workshops -- bimonthly * Aria boot camp workshops * College -- conservatory preparation * Diction coaching -- German, Italian, French, Spanish, Latin, and English * Song/Aria translations * International phonetic alphabet * Audio/Video recording of lessons * Performance opportunities * Assistance with recordings Why sing? Voice study allows the singer to take technical and artistic areas of learning and translate them to emotional expression. I believe that learning to sing can be a journey where diligent work and joy are partners. The voice studio is a safe and constructive environment where the student can be free to try new ways of thinking and to experiment with new sounds. Singing unites body, mind, and spirit. It can carry us to a place unreachable by any other path. * The Young Voice Voice study typically begins no earlier than age 15. Even at this age, the vocal mechanism is still developing. Great care must be taken to nurture its growth and to introduce sound technical concepts as appropriate to the individual. Ask me about an assessment for a younger singer. Also, I can recommend some good options for development of a younger singer prior to voice lessons. * The Adult Voice There is no maximum age for voice study! All voices can enjoy great refreshment by way of a technique tuneup. It is wonderful to know that the singing voice grows richer with age. Clear technical understanding and a more fine-tuned coordination help the adult singer to enjoy the gift of expressive singing as long as there are songs to sing!

***My studios are in Spokane Valley and in my home in CdA; I also travel to students for an extra fee, and as far South as Lewiston/Clarkston! There is nothing I love more than guiding people in learning to properly sing and/or play the piano: it fills me up inside & is my niche; I've known for a very long time it would be, but confirmation came in the first lesson I ever gave. I've had my own studio since 2010, I've run a studio in 3 Spokane YMCA locations, have a BA from EWU in Music with large minors in Education, both Clinical and Applied Psychology, and Music Education; I also have 4.5 years and 5 worldwide accreditation certificates in holistic healing. I have taught in public schools, performed in college, in local theaters, in bands & worship teams, and have sung private gigs. I specialize in working through stahe fright and also from being "tone deaf". Last year, I sent a singer to American Idol and sang with Zonky Jazz Band; ai have students in local theaters and bands. I am willing to take students at my home or via the internet. My rate is the lowest going rate, as I believe private lessons should be affordable to all. The first time I meet with someone is free. I'm also willing to financially work with low-income students. Everyone who is hungry to learn deserves a good teacher. I love that I have the opportunity to bring even more quality music into the world and to help others discover the joy of their full potential. There is nothing more enjoyable to me than to see a person's face light up or to see them excitedly make connections as they learn. What excites & satisfies me about my work is the work. Teaching singing & piano is my niche in life where I go into a mental zone. My joy & satisfaction comes from getting to help a student grow. I really care about my students. I am quirky & laid back, I will make you laugh at times, and you will enjoy the process. I incorporate holistic & psychological practices to help students with stage fright, or who are just overloaded in life, to be able to get past those barriers. I think outside the box, so my lessons aren't the stereotypical ones people imagine. I asked a student of mine a couple years back, after 2 years of lessons, what she thought. Her reply was that it isn't what she thought it would be, but it just works. I take great joy in assisting my students to grow in their art.

I’m a professional singer and voice teacher with a Master’s degree in Voice and Opera. I offer singing lessons for a wide arrangement of students in a wide variety of styles. Beginner, intermediate, or experts all welcome. While classical is my specialty, and I believe a classical base is helpful for all types of singing, I also teach pop, jazz, and musical theatre as well. Recommended for students age 13 and up, adults and teenagers welcome. I also provide music tutoring services in subjects such as Music Theory, Music History, Sightsinging, and Foreign Language Diction. Lesson rates range from $50-$100, depending on length of lesson and location.
