**Please note I am located in Phoenix, Arizona, but I also do lessons remotely and have students located around the country. I am extremely versatile and flexible. I play many different instruments, including classical & acoustic guitars, Irish & silver flute, and sing, as well as varied musical styles, including classical, singer/songwriter, classic/modern rock, jazz, and Celtic. I have performed and taught guitar lessons for over 35 years. I have also studied with classical guitarists Christopher Parkening and Manuel Barrueco. I am also a certified teacher, having taught in Arizona’s public schools for the past 15 years. I qualify for the voucher/ESA program in Arizona, so you can use voucher funds to pay for your guitar lessons. I am patient, positive, and encouraging and can teach guitar for all levels, ages, and styles. Students always learn a song the first lesson to learn the foundation of basic chords, and then each week we build that with songs the student wants to learn. Students will learn chords, strum patterns, finger picking, and note reading. In addition, my classical guitar background helps students learn the proper technique for holding the guitar, as well as finger and hand placement to maximize playing potential. I also offer free recitals, so students are given the opportunity to perform.
