Introduction

Planning your wedding ceremony should be one of the best experiences in your life. However, because you only do one (or two...) in your lifetime, it can be a bit nerve-racking. Because I have served people from a wide range of backgrounds and personalities, I have gained the experience to help you navigate this extraordinary moment in your life with ease and confidence. I am an ordained minister and can officiate your rehearsal and wedding, assist with writing your vows, and provide pre-marital counseling if desired. I can also provide everything you need for your total wedding experience. Whether you are looking for a "day of" coordinator, a wedding concierge who can provide options and connections for every detail, or a wedding coordinator who will help you get "everything" done, I have the experience. Some people are hesitant to consider a man for these roles; however, I am also a dad of 3 daughters and have walked this path with their weddings. For most of today's busy couples, having the time to research all of the available options for all of the elements they want in their experience (rehearsal, ceremony, reception) is overwhelming. In my initial consultation with a couple, I help them formulate a big picture of their wedding experience and then map out the options and decisions they will need to make to create it. I can provide multiple options to consider for each element or do the research for them that will meet their expectations. As a pastor, I have walked with people through a variety of life's circumstances and events. A wedding ceremony is one of those life moments filled with joy, passion, and hope. I truly enjoy helping people celebrate this special moment by providing a reassuring presence and confident leadership for the couple and the wedding party.

unfold fold
$300 for a typical ceremony. This includes writing the script and vows for the ceremony and officiating at the rehearsal and ceremony. $500 for premarital counseling (4-6 sessions), includes writing the script and vows for the ceremony and officiating at the rehearsal and ceremony. Wedding Coordinator roles will vary depending on the scope of what is requested. An free initial consultation will help clarify the request and then an accurate proposal can be submitted.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I typically schedule a time to meet with a couple so that we can get to know each other a little before they decide if I am right for their wedding experience and the services they need. For a Wedding Officiant, we will discuss their ceremony and their interest in premarital counseling at the initial consultation. I will ask them to think through everything we've discussed and get back to me if they want to move forward. Once they have made that decision, we can schedule the appropriate number of subsequent meetings: 1-2 if it is just to officiate the ceremony, 4-6 if they choose premarital counseling.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find someone you connect with and who will give you solid advice for the ceremony as well as your relationship. Also, someone who can engage the rest of your family and friends during the rehearsal is a great asset. The same is true for a Wedding Coordinator; someone you connect with and who exudes the confident to coordinate all the elements and vendors for the entire experience. This role also requires someone who can function well in the energy and rigor of the moment (read: emotions and chaos), the organizational skills to make adjustments on the fly (even the best laid plans...), and above all the people skills to handle each person with the appropriate respect and care in the moment (just in case Uncle Ben gets a excited on the dance floor or Aunt Bettie thinks the flowers need to be moved...).

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How much time do they personally have to invest in making all of this happen and how much are they willing to invest in someone else getting it done.
