Introduction

Our business stands out in numerous ways. After being hired, clients will receive the attorney's personal contact info. We offer discounts on many kinds of cases for veterans or current military, particularly on divorce cases. Please inquire if you are a veteran or current member of the military. For criminal cases, we will walk you through all of your options to minimize the client's exposure to tough, unreasonable sentences. We are also familiar with all the alternative disposition programs, where clients may be able to avoid criminal penalties. For divorces, we offer some of the lowest fees in the State of CT! Uncontested cases go for as little as $3000, and are usually resolved in about four months, sometimes less. Please be aware that “uncontested” means that both parties are ALREADY in full agreement on all issues related to the divorce, such as division of assets, finances, potential alimony, etc. For contested cases, we charge a bit more but our goal is always to get the most favorable outcome for the client possible. For personal injury cases, we charge a contingency fee, meaning the customer ONLY gets charged if we succeed in getting a settlement or judgment, and the fee is set by CT statute! We also have friendly connections with various doctors and chiropractors in the area with whom we regularly work, if you wish to get a no-cost referral (we do not charge you for the referral nor do we take any kind of fee from the doctor or chiropractor). This usually allows us to negotiate the client's medical bills after settlement, thereby putting more money in the client's pocket. We will always maximize the amount of compensation possible for the client! We love happy clients and will make all reasonable efforts to ensure the client's satisfaction with the legal services provided. This means that we do not "nickel and dime" our clients, and your billing will be detailed and straightforward. Most importantly, though we are lawyers, we are people first and we are always happy to answer questions or concerns from our clients!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer discounts on certain kinds of cases for veterans, current military and law enforcement. They make for the best clients! We also offer flat-fees on certain kinds of cases, especially uncontested divorce matters, small claims filings, and lower-level criminal cases. For personal injury cases, our contingency fee is the legal fee set by CT law! Contingency means that we only get paid at the end of the case if the client gets a settlement or judgment. We try to offer the most affordable fees in CT, and we may even be able to work with you on a payment plan depending on the nature of your case. Credit cards and debit cards are accepted, however, there’s an additional bank processing fee of 4% (four percent), so most clients prefer to par with cash, checks or money orders. Please note that at this time, we cannot accept payment by way of any app such as CashApp, PayPal, Venmo, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First, we have an initial half-hour consultation, FREE of charge for all personal injury and criminal defense cases, in order to gather as much information as possible and give the customer an accurate retainer estimate. For a divorce consultation, a half-hour is only $50 and a full hour is $75. (Please note that for personal injury and criminal cases, there is NEVER a consultation fee!) We will discuss legal options and potential issues with your case during the consultation. For injury cases, we are associated with various doctors and chiropractors who will help assess your medical records and bills, and give their opinions in order to help bolster the case. For criminal cases, we’ll discuss alternatives to litigation like potential diversionary programs that are available. For divorces, the customer will receive an information form to fill out and that will help assess how complicated the divorce may be. Our goal is ALWAYS to minimize expenses for clients as much as possible, while also handling the case in an efficient manner.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All attorneys are fully licensed in the state and federal courts.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with all kinds of clients. I give discounts to veterans and current members of the military because, in my experience, they make for the best clients. Happy to help veterans, current military or law enforcement of any variety for any of the three main fields for which we do work: criminal defense, divorce or personal injury. With criminal cases, veterans and military may also qualify for extra benefits from the court system, which can frequently make the lawyer’s job somewhat easier. For divorces, I’ve worked with young people with no children and no assets, all the way to older folks with long marriages and well-established lives. I’ve also handled many divorces for LGBTQ+ individuals, ever since CT began to recognize same-sex marriage back in 2014. For injury cases, I’ve had a variety of people with pre-existing conditions and prior legal cases, and I’ve done many cases for people who are just experiencing their first legal case. For injuries, I mostly do Plaintiff’s cases but I’ve also represented many defendants, too, such as landlords or drivers who didn’t have insurance at the time of the accident. Defendants should inquire within as that presents more complicated issues than a Plaintiff’s case.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If looking for an attorney, ask if the field of work (eg, divorce, criminal defense, personal injury, etc.) is their main field or if they are a general practitioner, and how much experience they have in that specific field. Also, in terms of pricing, it’s important to clarify how much of the case will reasonably be covered by the initial retainer. Sometimes the initial retainer gets spent very quickly, depending on the nature of the case. Ask for specifics as to what is billable, for example, phone calls, emails, driving time and various other things that are not literal legal work but are necessary to performing the job.
