Introduction

We practice consumer bankruptcy law ANYWHERE in the Metro Atlanta area. We DO NOT DO business bankruptcies of any kind. All consultations and paperwork is done via phone, email & internet. All court hearings will also be done via telephone until otherwise noted. We offer free consultations with experienced attorneys to help you get your financial affairs back in order. We help put an end to creditor harassment, and we help you end garnishments and prevent foreclosures. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing helps you get a fresh start by wiping out all unsecured debt, while a Chapter 13 filing helps you better manage your debt which could include mortgage arrears, car payments, taxes, child support, etc. Prices posted are the total court FILING FEES which are the same nationwide. You may pay less to file with installments. ATTORNEYS FEES are based on what is required in YOUR specific case. We are comparable to other quality firms in the metro area. The attorney you meet with will make the ultimate decision, based on your situation, to help live the burden of debt relief. We have three metro Atlanta offices that are strategically located for your convenience. Please call for a free consultation with a qualified attorney. The Bankruptcy Law Group is a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the bankruptcy code.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Reasonably priced. We also accept Hyatt (MetLaw) and ARAG legal insurance plans. Double check your deductions because sometimes clients have the legal plans and forget.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The process is simple. Your first phone call will get your situation assessed and a recommendation made. The next step is to send in your required documents which are: 60 days (2 months) of your immediate past pay stubs. A copy of your ID & SS card. Your signed intake form that we will send you. After that is done we set up a telephone appointment to write your case and answer all other questions you may have. You will pay your filing fee at that time. After your case is filed, your court call is typically 30 days for a chapter 7 and it could be a bit longer for a chapter 13. Once your fees are paid and case confirmed you can go back to your life worry free from debt!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have worked with all sorts of clients: from the everyday working man and woman to high net worth individuals. Bankruptcy does not discriminate.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
We help you navigate the United States Bankruptcy Code. DO NOT go at it alone! Email or call us to set up a free consultation with an experienced attorney to help solve your financial issues. These are trying times, but we are here to help. We have four convenient locations in the Metro Atlanta area.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I wish more people would seek out a bankruptcy attorney BEFORE allowing their home to be foreclosed on. We hear over and over again that a client tried to work with a mortgage company for a loan modification for months on end and then finding out, sometimes in less than a week that their home would be sold on the courthouse steps. Most times they don't act fast enough and end up losing their home. I also wish more people would avoid these "debt consolidation" firms who take their money and deliver almost no services. The question to ask yourself is this: why would a company settle with them? What leverage do they have on your behalf? Almost none. In almost every case, they end up being told at the last minute "go file bankruptcy" because you're about to be garnished or foreclosed on. By then they would have already spent close to $2000 already that they could have used for bankruptcy relief.
