What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Dorchester Law Center's intake staff will first obtain basic facts and information on the situation to make sure that the case is the type of legal work we do. Then, the new client is connected with an attorney for either a telephone or in-person consultation.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Our professional team is well-educated with degrees from Cooley Law School, the University of Southern California, as well as other distinguished universities. Additionally, our team includes a certified Veterans' Advocate and we regularly enroll in continuing legal education to stay ahead of the game.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
The founder of Dorchester Law Center is a proud US Army Veteran who was able to benefit from his veterans' benefits to help pay for law school. Upon completion of his education, he gained experience in helping overwhelmed consumers find relief through the bankruptcy code. Additionally, he helped build a Veterans' Advocacy team in Philadelphia where he realized he could combine all of his experiences to make the most positive impact.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our clients have included a wide range of people with varying needs: veterans, the elderly, parents who need legal help for their children, and the list goes on and on. In nearly 40 years of combined experience, we have worked hard to craft the best legal solution for the individual's unique needs

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Seeking the help from a lawyer should involve a level of comfort and confidence where you never feel silenced or coerced to accept the recommendations. Whether you seek help from our team or from somewhere else, you should always feel that your voice is being heard.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before you speak to a legal team, consider what is the key goal that you want to achieve. Also, think through if there is a secondary goal that you are willing to accept. Finally, you should look at your budget to see what is your level of financial commitment to the objectives you have already considered.
