Introduction

Over 27 years helping Utah residents statewide at Budget Bankruptcy Utah. I take pride in the amount of time I personally spend with each client and perspective client. I provide a 1 hour free consultation to every prospective client. I feel it requires this personal time from an experienced attorney to truly understand your situation, to explain to you and help you understand the law, and then to apply that law to your unique facts and circumstances. Simply put, a 20 min sales presentation with a paralegal and filling out a packet of information does not equal good advice, good service or good practice of law. Bankruptcy is serious, it can be complicated, and you shouldn't do it alone. Get an experienced attorney who will take the time to personally understand you and explain your options for your case. Call today for a free, personal and confidential consultation. I enjoy being able to provide relief and hope to good people who are overburdened in difficult situations. Yes, you can get a fresh start, and I can help you. Call today for a free consultation.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer a discount for services paid in full in advance and several payment plans including reduced and even $ 0 down filing options. Every case is unique and we will find something that works for your situation

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Schedule an initial free consultation. Call us. Your case is important, you deserve a full and detailed consultation with an attorney, not a sales person. I will give you an hour. I will take time to understand your situation and explain the relevant law and how it applies to your facts and circumstances. I will help you develop a game plan and explain how we can implement that plan.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Law degree from a well regarded program and 20 years of experience. I have substantial experience in debt collection so I understand what the "other" side is thinking and doing.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started doing consumer bankruptcy work 20 years ago when I was asked by a community leader to help someone in my neighborhood in need. I also represented a large regional bank in bankruptcy collection matters for a number of years until it was bought out by a larger bank.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Like any disease, debt disease knows no boundaries and affects people from all walks of life. We have represented individuals and families from many backgrounds . Whether you are higher income/assets with more complex planning needs, or minimum wage needing immediate but affordable relief can help.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Some of my favorite case are those where I can make an immediate difference to help someone, like stopping a wage garnishment, or stopping a foreclosure or repossession. We can work fast, and we can do same day filings when needed.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You need an attorney, not a sales person. You need a consultation not a sales pitch. Let my staff schedule a consultation for you with me, Dane L Hines, attorney. I have 20 years of experience in bankruptcy and debt collection. Bankruptcy issues are too important, take it seriously and get an experienced attorney who will personally review your situation and advise you. If a law office advertises years of experience, are you having your consultation with the attorney with that experience, does that "experienced" attorney even live in Utah or are they personally licensed in Utah? We are seeing an increasing number of firms set up by " experienced" attorneys who do not live in, or personally practice in Utah, they use their name and " experience " to advertise, but the local office is run by a much less experienced associate often with little or no supervision or training from the advertised "experienced" attorney.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Is the person doing you consultation an attorney? How long has the attorney you are talking to practiced in consumer bankruptcy? What percentage of their legal practice is consumer bankruptcy? This is not the time for a " jock of all trades".
