Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Current Update: Spring 2023: I have come across several hosts with concerns about expenses in recent times. With the graduation, wedding and event season coming, the idea of hiring vendors and seeing multiple bids can be overwhelming. Know that we are here to work, and work with you. There are options not listed in standard pricing, suggestions and modifications I can offer to minimize the bar expense, as well as your overall event costs. Please ask if you are interested.*** DO I NEED ADDITIONAL STAFF/BAR BACK? This is an important consideration, and depends on the nature of your event and number of guests. You will always benefit if you have the following scenarios: ***Large Event: 51-100 or more guests*** Drink Menu: Mixed drinks or extensive options*** Outside or large venue*** Assistance needed outside the bar*** Bar Back: responsibilities include setting up and maintaining the bar area, cleaning, emptying trash, stocking ice and drinks. This is a huge benefit to the bartender's ability to serve, as they often cannot leave the bar. It also helps convey a more friendly and professional presentation, if the bartender is not turning his back, rushing around stocking, or crouching down pouring ice into buckets, etc. Servers/Wait Staff: can assist with food service and clearing tables and passing trays of appetizers. If you are not sure how many staff to hire, please ask!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will talk on the phone briefly to go over details about your priorities, and event. After this, we will follow up through other chats or by email. It is very important that we clarify what is included in your package. We can also go over additional items, prices etc. I often have inventory in stock that I can offer for better prices than a store or party rental. Please ask.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have an extensive background food and restaurant, party planning, bartending and service industries. RBS trained and ABC Certified. Food Handler's Certificate, Master Mixologist Certificate. Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a bartender's license. If a business offers "Licensed" Bartenders, they are referring to their liquor license. That is, they are legally allowed to sell their own alcohol.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
From corporate to celebrity events, promotional to private, to weddings, birthdays, baby showers, church groups, bar/bat mitzvahs, holiday, ages 1-100 , party of 1-400. All clients get top rated custom service. I provide small catering service (under 20) as well as personal chef services for dinner parties or special occasions.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Staffing companies and agencies provide various types of service, and package options. Reading reviews will give you a better idea of each standard of service, helping you to choose the right fit, for your particular event and needs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Close consideration of the nature of your event is crucial to getting you the right staff for the job. Is it formal or casual? High paced and busy, or calm and quiet? Large or intimate? Etc. Some staff have different talents/personalities, etc. and knowing this information ahead of time is very helpful in finding you the best fit.
