What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

What the customer should know about my pricing is that I am in a place of negotiation. Although I am not new to the industry, I am new to thumbtack. I am offering discounted rates for the next couple months while I build my reputation here.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

With every new customer I offer a phone consultation to get to better know the customer and their wants and needs. I then send a proposal detailing what I offer in attention to their goals, along with the cost.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My training includes working in a fast paced mixology bar with a seasonally changing menu. My background in liquor marketing has given me a plethora of knowledge on every type of spirit and how it’s made, who has the best quality, and which are the crowd favorites.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started bartending at a prominent and historical spot in Laguna Beach where I learned the art of mixology. I had also been bartending private events exclusively for Casamigos for a few years prior. Eventually my entrepreneurial mindset led me to create a vision of my own- a trustworthy mobile bartending service with fresh ingredients, creative menus, and top notch, genuine bartenders who love what they do.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Maybe I’m the lucky one, but I have not had a bad experience with any customers. I am always enamored and grateful for the people I get to work with.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently served a party on a ranch with 200 guests. It was a sit down dinner followed by an all night party with various musicians, dancers, horses, etc. My bar started flowing before the dinner and continued into the morning. I was accompanied by another one of my outstanding bartenders and although we were scheduled for 6 hours, we stayed for 7 per request…to keep the party going. It was an unforgettable evening!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The advice I would give a customer is to do a “dry hire.” This gives you the opportunity to get your liquor at a lower cost- you are in control of how much you spend.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers should first share in detail what their vision is for their event. Then if every question isn’t answered, they should specify with the pro- price/quantity/quality.
