Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer 4 packages (Basic, Black Tie, Burlesque, and Beyond) to accommodate different needs and budgets. Clients can also add on additional Planning, Procurement, and Prep as needed (the Beyond package gets a discount on these), as well as request additional bartenders and/or bar backs to take care of larger crowds.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I typically ask potential clients to complete a questionnaire prior to our initial consultation. This allows us to quickly get past the meat so that we can focus on the details that many host don’t even think of. I also anticipate obstacles and offer solutions to make sure every event goes off without a hitch… It’s my job to make sure my clients are worry free so that they can focus on other things.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I did go to bartending school while in college and since then I have gained experience working at a wide array of venues… from wine bars, to hotels, to clubs… I’ve seen it all and just about done it all! Now I am looking to add flair bartending to my arsenal and have been training myself on various tricks I can use to wow the crowd.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Bartending is in my family’s blood. I went to bartending school while I was in college in Texas in 2004. I then worked my way up a Wine Bar in Atlanta, and shortly later I found myself being asked to do private parties. I later went into corporate as a financial advisor and digital analyst but quickly discovered that bartending is my happy place!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Having experience working in everything from corporate to clubs, as well as experience working at the LARGEST hotel in Atlanta, I am comfortable in all crowds and can relate to customers of all ages, from all over the world, and from ALL walks of life. I have done private events that range from birthdays to baby showers, business grand openings to bachelorette parties… NO client type is unusual at this point.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My favorite project so far was a bachelorette party I did in DC. It took a few months because I had to make special shot apparatuses (all by hand) for the bridesmaids and bride to be but the look on their faces was WAY worth it. I know they will ALWAYS remember that party and Favorite Weekend Bartender!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Making good drinks quickly is only part of the equation. A good bartender also has to be clean, orderly, and engaging, as they bring great energy to your guest. They also need to understand your needs as each and every event can be unique. A bartender that doesn’t ask questions, or talks more than they listen, is a red flag.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
The budget, theme, date, time, and # of guest is always top of the list for me (all on my questionnaire) but also flavors, colors, and special touches should be considered as well. The devil is in the DETAILS!
