Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We price based on our abilities. I employ only experienced and determined individuals to represent my brand.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I always like to have a phone or in person conversation to set expectations and make sure that all bases are covered before agreeing to events.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have 10+ year in the service industry from being a hostess to a General Manager. This allows me to provide my clients with the best experience possible.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have always worked in some type of restaurant or bar during college. I have graduated now and have a professional career however I have always wanted to have my own business. When COVID hit and the restaurants shut down I decided now would be a perfect time to start Great Lakes Bar Services Co. There was a market for private event bartenders & I was determined to make it work!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have staffed events as small as 25 people and weddings as big as 300+ guests. We have completed graduation parties, dinner parties and grand openings.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My most recent project was a high school graduation party over the summer. I was in charge of coordinating all vendors (food and seating) along with making sure we had decorations as well as setting it all up day of for the event. I also provided staffing for the event as well. This was planned over a month. The host was very hands off and explained his vision for his sons graduation party and I knocked it out of the park. I was also hired to help coordinate his daughters graduation party 2 years later.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
We take pride in our jobs. We want everyone to have a great event and we do this by charging what we are worth and making sure everything is detailed.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Our main goal is to provide all of our clients with a custom experience for their event! Our first step is to gather all necessary information about the event, typically this is done via our contact form or a quick phone/meeting. 1. What tools are needed? 2. What is supplied by event host? 3. How long is the event? Many Companies charge hourly and have a minimum amount of time they will book events for. Please make sure you consider this when looking for event staff. 4. Do you want tips jars or just a standard 25% gratuity added to package costs? Once this has been determined we will send over a proposal for total cost - we set a phone call to go over the invoice & address any additional questions. If the client decides to move forward we take a non refundable 50% retainer to secure your date.
