Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing includes an hour for bar setup. That time may be adjusted depending on the size and time of the event. Thirty minutes is included in the teardown process depending on the size of the event. So if there is 3 hours of serving time and additional 90 minutes is added on to a lot for setup and teardown. Pricing includes bar service. Additional like champagne towers and the bar iteself is an added charge.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I go through a questionnaire process to gather details about the event, and then I submit a written quote. The customer will review and make any needed revisions and once things are agreed upon the contract is signed by both parties and a small deposit is made to lock in the date. Payment can be made anytime up to the day of the event. For commercial businesses within 7-10 working days.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am ServSafe and ETips Certified and carry Liability insurance.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ve always been a natural mixologist. My first job was at a jazz club, while working there I also worked at several other bars to gain speed and experience.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Jazz clubs, hotels, private clubs, events, theatre dining and apartment customer appreciation events. I also do mixology classes and corporate events and provide training for new bartenders. Receptions and private parties as well.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Consider the time it takes to setup and teardown a bar. Realize that while a bartender can give estimates of suggested alcohol needed that is subjective to each group and the type of drinkers they are. Also allow the bartender to think about the safety of your group, that is in part why they are used. The liability responsibility is huge but guests can have fun safely.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What kind of drinkers will my guest be? Do I want to have a couple of specialty cocktails instead of a full bar? What time do I want my guests to start drinking? Most guests don’t want to wait an hour after the service while pictures are being taken to start consuming. Should a small appetizer be available if dinner is more than hour wait? Water, water, water, should be available.
