Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Whenever somebody contacts me about hiring me for a special event, I just let them know that they must book in advance, they must put down a booking security deposit, which will be deducted from the final cost for the event. Also, depending on the event, I will do a contract of commitment that way the client and myself know that the date is booked and from that point on we have no other worries

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically, when working with a new client a try to get a feel for what they’re actually looking for or whom they’re actually looking for. Whether they need a person who’s just gonna pour drinks or somebody who’s going to be able to mix cocktails. Also, the length of time that they will need a bartender and the type of event that they’re needing to hire a bartender for. I ask him about their previous experience in hiring a bartender, and I just let them know my process as far as booking me for a date, putting down a deposit, and filling out a contract for service. Are usually try to be thorough, but clear, especially if they are new to hiring a bartender for a private event.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been in the service industry for about 17 years as a server and bartender, I completed bartending college, and I’ve worked for numerous restaurants and bars as a server and bartender. I also do private parties, weddings, and corporate events.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Well, I’ve been in the restaurant business for about 17 years as a server and bartender. When I realize I could work for myself, I chose to go independent so that I could help bartend, private parties, weddings, corporate events, etc. and not have to worry about the insanity of a bar or club ha ha.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All types

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
What are my recent projects was a backyard wedding, they didn’t have a very large budget so they did mostly wine, champagne and beer but they did wanna have a couple cocktails so I have a package price that included to signature cocktails that I customized for the bride and groom, which was obviously their favorites summer sangria and moonshine hillbilly punch.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
To make sure how many guests you have at your event, what kind of beverages and cocktails you’d like to serve at your event, the length of your event date time and budget. Feel free to shop around. There are lots of good people out there, but make sure that you’re a bartender you hire has experience. And definitely don’t wait to the last minute because if you shop around you’ll see that there’s a lot of bartenders but they get booked up quick and if you wait to the last minute to hire a bartender, chances are you may not find one or you may not find a good one. So shop around early and book early get yourself a good bartender and you’ll have a very happy guests.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Maybe think about how many guests they have and how many guests will actually be drinking and how they would like their variety of drinks without having an extremely large cost.
