What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I usually charge $60 per hour with a 2 hour minimum. On bigger jobs that need a quote this hourly rate gets fit into the quote and I add a little more for unforeseen issues that come up during the job.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My usual first response will be brief but I like to ask questions about the job so I can get a better idea of what tools and materials I need to bring.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Ive been in the construction industry off and on for the last 20 years. Ive built and remodeled mostly residential homes. Ive done a little bit of everything involved with Home Repair. Usually if I've never done something before I can figure it out.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I got a Job through a friend with a contractor when I was 20

What types of customers have you worked with?

Ive worked with all types of customers. They Always have one thing in common and that's they need someone honest and reliable to do good work and fix a problem. They need peace of mind and that's what I try and provide.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Ive been doing a lot of exterior painting. I enjoy the work and the creativity involved. Since I work by myself usually it takes me longer than a full crew but I always do a good job.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would encourage customers to ask questions about the process and to provide as much information as possible about the project. It helps us identify exactly what needs to be done before we even get to your house. Include pictures whenever possible.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Questions that customer should think about are What materials are needed? What's the outcome they desire? (Function and form). How much are they willing to pay to fix this problem? (sometimes the problem can be more costly then we think they will be). And think about timeline does this problem need to be fix right away? Or there's no rush to fix this problem. The answers to these questions will help guide you to find the right professional for your job.
