Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing will always be fair. I won’t price a job I can’t complete and I won’t ask you to pay by the hour on an open ended schedule. Please do keep in mind that my pricing must take into account my travel expenses as well as fees paid to thumbtack.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Understanding the customer’s needs is the key. From there I’ll help them work out a solution that’s right for them and fits their budget.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’m primarily self taught. I have worked in construction but most of my skills were honed working on my own home, auto, and business projects often with guidance from a myriad of friends and acquaintances in every trade.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
DIY is a way of life for me. From fixing my own bike as a kid to building an addition/new kitchen on my house. I’ve spent 40 years learning how to fix just about anything!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Primarily residential customers from young families to retirees. Happy to help anyone I can.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I did a closet remodel for a friend recently. It involved removing a small bathroom to make way for a larger closet with sliding doors and automatic lighting. The best part was hearing them say “It looks like it’s always been here!” Absolutely made my day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for someone with a solid combination of experience and connection to their community. Experience hones skill and connections in a community insure honesty. I’m a Camden SC native of 53 years and blessed to have many life long friends and contacts throughout my community.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Consider the scope of the work. Is this a big job for a team of professionals or something a handyman can likely do? What is your budget? Maybe the job is small and easily affordable or do you need to get the finances worked out after getting a quote?
