Introduction

Tired of prices increasing year after year? My prices are guaranteed to NEVER increase unless your situation changes SIGNIFICANTLY. I make the tax preparation process simple for you. Everything is done online in my secure, encrypted client portal. Once you begin the process, you can save your progress and resume anytime. Complete each step at YOUR convenience. 1. E-sign an engagement letter 2. Fill out a tax organizer with basic info about you and your situation, and upload your documents. 3. Review and e-sign your return. 4. Mark taxes off your to do list! You can do all of this from a computer or mobile device. I'll handle the rest, asking questions as necessary to ensure you're getting the maximum refund or lowest tax liability possible. All without having to leave the comfort of your home. How's that sound? You can also e-mail your documents if you prefer. Our portal uses the same level of security your bank uses for online banking. We take the privacy and security of your information very seriously. I have nearly 20 years of experience and you WILL get the largest refund or lowest tax liability you are legally entitled to. Plus I'm open year round for your convenience. I'm registered with the IRS and state of California (PTIN # P01873678, CTEC #A281827, NY # 12490519), bonded, and here to serve you. Please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any questions. Looking forward to working with you! Jamaal Turner, MBA, CPP Who's Your Tax Man?

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Hourly rates are pretty standard for this industry but I find most clients prefer a flat rate where everything is included and you don't have any unpredictable expenses. If you prefer an hourly rate we can discuss during our free initial consultation.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I offer a free initial consultation where I learn about your situation and find out how I can make your life easier.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have an MBA and a Bachelor's in Finance. I also hold an associate degree in Accounting. I'm a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), which is considered the gold standard and highest payroll certification available. I'm also a Certified Quickbooks Proadvisor for Quickbooks Desktop, Online, Enterprise, and Point of Sale. I also complete annually a minimum of 35 hours of tax education - 20 hours required by the state and 15 required by the IRS to stay up to date on tax law and maintain my tax preparer credentials.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've worked as an accountant or consultant for small businesses to billion dollar companies and saw a need for professional accounting services that were also affordable for all budgets. Charging flat fees is one way I remain committed to keeping more money in my clients' pockets.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with clients across the country in a variety of industries.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Thumbtack is great in that they provide the opportunity for Pros to submit to a national background check. If you've passed, a "background check completed" badge is added to their profile. This is a great way to vet prospective pros. If you're looking for a tax preparer, make sure they're licensed. The IRS requires any paid prepare to obtain a PTIN and some states have additional licensure requirements.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Please have your documents organized to simplify the process for both of us.
