What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a bachelor degree in Finance, Masters in Accountancy, I do have CPA certificate and I am currently working on getting licensed in a state of Florida. I am also Quickbooks Online Pro advisor and working on Xero Certification.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My mom is an accountant- I followed her footsteps. I did tax work while in school both professionally and as a volunteer. After school I worked for a few small businesses and then worked for four years with a Chicago CPA firm the specialized in high net worth trading clients. Establishing my own remote practice is a natural evolution for me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

My main clientele are traders, lawyers, real estate investors, wireless telecommunications entities, construction, e-commerce, and other small business owners in different sectors.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

One of my last projects was doing a few years clean up work for a real estate investing company. Main issues that i found: depreciation was not recorded at all, income was mixed up between the buildings, mortgage payments were not properly accounted for, payroll was not recorded correctly. It was an extended project as they did have multiple buildings and multiple companies and I needed to gather additional paperwork. It did take me one week to finish working on and off.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for candidates that understand process and data, then settle upon one with which you can communicate and work comfortably and who will be responsive in a timely manner.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

If you answer the following you will be able to define the project and find the right financial service professional: What are your goals and how do you want to accomplish them? What are your concerns and how accounting professional can help you to resolve them? Who will receive your data? When do you want the project to be finished? What is the budget? What will define success? Bookkeeping can not only help you to prepare your financials for tax season but also provide important information for growing your business.
