What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All of our pricing is custom calculated based on the individual client's needs. This is to ensure the client is only paying for the services he or she requires.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We will start with a free consultation via phone, text or email to outline general needs. If we choose to move forward I will provide a free summarized review of your account. The next step is to prepare a quote for hourly or custom monthly services.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been doing bookkeeping for over 15 years, mainly in the independent contracting and construction industry. I have over 20 years of administrative experience as well as over 14 years of office management experience. I have four technical certificates in business related fields and am QuickBooks certified as a Pro-Advisor.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started out in clerical work at the age of 19 as a temporary employee for a telecommunications company. From that point I was hired into a property management company in Chicago where I ran the front desk. I then relocated closer to my home and accepted a position as an administrative assistance for a disaster restoration company. After a year and a half I was promoted to office manager/bookkeeper and have worked in that role for 3 other companies since the year 2000.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of my work has been with general contractors, sub-contractors, and independent contractors. I also have experience with retail, nonprofits, HOA, service providers, event companies, property management and others. I am always open to discussing any client's needs with them to find out if we can work together successfully.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Starting my own business is a project I am very proud of and I am determined to bring my customers top service.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would definitely take into consideration the years of experience they have working as a bookkeeper. Taking classes and online training courses are beneficial, however without having the hands on experience and actually learning to trouble-shoot issues that arise in bookkeeping one can make costly mistakes. I have been in bookkeeping for over 15 years and have had many opportunities to problem solve, put out fires, and figure out best practices for my employers and co-workers.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers need to know what their needs are, and what they are willing to pay for. Do they need payroll services? Do they need bill pay services? Do they need to send out customer statements monthly? Do they do progress billing or AIA billing? Will they be creating estimates? All of these, along with many more, are factors of bookkeeping that can or cannot be included in a package quoted to a customer.
