At Agog Financials, we are trying to change the traditional perception of Accountants as tax preparers or auditors, rather we believe that our certified public accountants and consultants should work as your trusted advisors. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing is based on the clients requirements (Complexity, volume of transactions, in house vs outsourced etc.). Some of our clients prefer hourly rates while some prefer a fixed price. We prefer to propose pricing after understanding the clients requirements.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Our initial consultation is always free. We try to get a better understanding of the clients current accounting and financial concerns, their individual and business requirements so that we may devise an end to end strategy to meet all their requirements.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University. I am a CPA licensed to practice in VA, DC, MD, PA and NY with over 10 years of public accounting experience. Working with Big 4 and regional accounting firms has helped me gain wide range of industry experience ranging from Fortune 100 companies to small independent family owned businesses.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Always passionate about the profession. The beauty of it is that CPA's are not purely “accountants.” As a CPA, I have had the opportunity to wear a variety of hats thus far in my career--auditor, tax preparer, writer, researcher, problem solver, adviser, pupil, mentor, and friend. As a result, I have the unique ability to contribute to multidisciplinary projects and to navigate complex challenges.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We specialize in providing accounting and tax services to individuals, small businesses and not for profit organizations. We also enjoy working with starts up and help them navigate through the complex web of accounting and tax issues.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Accountants for a mid size not for profit organization. Took over from their accountant of over 20 years. Found various issues with the way the finances were being managed and the books were kept. We spent months to figure out the issues, difficult when problems continue for 20 years. We were able to clean up the books and created a whole new accounting process that matched the clients exact requirements. We continue to support the client and the client could not be happier.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

To make sure that the accountant you pick treats your business the way you would treat your business. No cutting corners and cookie cutter approaches. At Agog Financials, we believe in permanent resolutions than temporary fixes. Our goal is to design an end to end accounting process that meets our client’s long term goals and aspirations. We position ourselves as our clients trusted advisor and are actively involved in their accounting processes while constantly looking for ways to maximize their accounting profits and minimize liabilities.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Am I getting an accountant who cares about my business as much as I do? Can I trust him and can I stick with the accountant for the rest of my life?
