What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My fees are very flexible depending upon what function the customer needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I first try to understand what value I can provide to the customer by discussing with the client what the goals are and how I can best help. Sometimes it is just tax preparation or bookkeeping, other times the client wants more strategic consulting.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BS in Accounting, an MS in Finance and 35 years of experience in the corporate world, either working for large entities but toward the end of my executive career in smaller companies or startups. The last several years I have provided consulting to a number of individuals or small companies on Tax preparation, simple bookkeeping, accounting or general business consulting.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I spent the first 15 year of my career in either accounting and finance and always held P&L responsibilities. I also have experience in all aspects of business including sales, marketing and HR. I am using that experience to help other.s

What types of customers have you worked with?

Mostly small companies looking to grow. That is the area where I have the most expertise.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I helped a small renewable energy company triple sales. I set up an accounting system for a new non profit company dedicated to helping third world countries solve pollution issues utilizing new technology.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I try to help the potential client understand what their real goals are and what it will take to achieve them, both financially and otherwise.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What do they really want from a consultant. Sometimes it is just tax preparation or bookkeeping which is fine, but other times they can use someone with experience such as mine to help grow their business.
