Introduction

Hi! My name is Josh Mathisen and I started Beach Life CPA, LLC with the belief that every business owner needs a great CPA in their corner. I have over 15 years of experience and have worked with clients ranging from farm owners, celebrities, athletes, Churches & Non-profits, shoe stores, clothing stores, grocery stores, restaurants, construction, landscapers, technology & biotechnology companies, manufacturers, coffee roasters and your average W-2 employee working and saving hard to support his/her family. Given this, I really think I could step in and add value to your company. From running payroll, to invoicing, preparing & filing tax returns (including B&O tax reports), bookkeeping and bank reconciliations – I can truly step in and fill in your missing gaps. The value-add to you comes in the form of tax and wage savings, as I am much more efficient and qualified compared to a lower-level full-time employee. You also get a professional (CPA/MBT) in your corner who will get the job done and does not need a lot of “training”. If you feel like we could be a great fit for each other, I would love to jump on the phone with you and discuss further. Thank you for your consideration! -Josh Mathisen (c/o Beach Life CPA, LLC)

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
After 15 years of experience, I have learned clients do not like being billed by the hour! It is ambiguous and getting a surprise bill at the end of a project is never any fun. If we decide to work together, I will get more information from you and give you an estimated fixed fee quote for the agreed upon work. That way you know what the cost is before any work is started.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
A monthly retainer client where I perform ongoing services throughout the year always starts with an introduction call! This way I can get more information from you, and get your questions answered as well. Smaller one off projects often times do not require an introduction phone call, but I am always happy to jump on the phone if you'd like.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a CPA and have a Masters in Business Taxation! My clients over the last 15 years have ranged from celebrities to mom and pop shoe store owners. I can confidently offer you guidance and handle your tax, book keeping and payroll needs throughout the year.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Make sure the person makes you feel good when you first connect! If anything does not feel right, move on. Trust is huge in business, life, and tax :)
