Introduction

As a photographer with over a decade of experience and a Master’s degree in photography, my photoshoots have taken me underwater, deep in the woods, to highest mountains, and to that little church down the road. Trust me, there’s nothing I can’t capture. My fine art background has enabled me to produce images that are crafted with the same skill and consideration with which I draw a picture. I am dedicated to capturing your story with care and artistry. That is why you are here. You want someone to capture your special day, your love story, that big, important thing, and I am just the one for the job! I would love to connect with you and talk about your next big adventure. Let’s see what we can dream up together. I am fully insured, certificate of coverage available upon request. I am located in Kent County, MD and typically travel within a 50 mile range or hour driving time without a travel fee.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have price points for each of the services I offer, but I am committed to working with each client to design a package that fits their project and budget. Photography is an investment, but I believe that everyone, regardless of finances, should have the opportunity to have their precious memories documented.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Booking with me is easy! Clients that are interested in working with me can reach out with a message, text, call or email, that includes desired services, date/location, and budget. I typically respond within 24 hours. Once a date, location, and budget are agreed upon, confirmation of the booking will be provided. Some sessions and services may require a deposit and/or contract. For weddings, events, and boudoir services, I will keep in touch leading up to the date and will work with clients on a timeline for services. I also love to get to know my clients with a questionnaire, call, or meetup.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have committed myself to becoming the best photographer I can be for my clients. In service of this, I have pursued a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Fine Art, both focusing in photography. I have also attended numerous workshops, seminars, and programs to continue my education. Most recently, I completed a Masterclass in Wedding photography, and a Boudoir photography program.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I am fortunate to be part of a family of artists, and was photographed throughout my childhood by my grandfather. He instilled in me a love of photography, and bought me my first camera when I was 8. Fast forward 10 years to 2007, and I was hired for my first paid gig, a wedding of a family friend. Although I have been working as a freelance photographer since, I officially established my business in 2019. I balance my time between my business and teaching photography, both in the community and at the college level.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with corporate clients, nonprofits, small businesses, couples, and families. From individual clients to large events with 200+ guests, I have done it all! My breadth of experience combined with my honed skillset makes me a great fit for almost any job!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
At the beginning of 2020, I was fortunate to be the photographer of an intimate wedding at the historic Philadelphia Cricket Club. The bride and groom, Anne and Sam, were an absolute dream to work with. After capturing their touching ceremony in front of a gorgeous fireplace, we set out to explore the club to take the couple’s portraits. They were so much fun, and their love made even some of the posed portraits look natural. They were up for every idea I presented, and we made some beautiful pictures together. During their reception, I had the best time mingling with their guests to take some beautiful candid and group photos. Following the reception, I rushed home and edited some of my favorite shots. They were in love with the sneak peeks I sent, and even more in love with the gallery sent to them the following week.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
With the advent of digital photography, there are so many photographers out there just waiting to work with you. Photography is an investment, and you want to be sure you are hiring a professional who has the experience and artistry to take beautiful photos. Viewing their website, social media, and client reviews should assure you that you are choosing a true professional as opposed to a hobbyist.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
When hiring a photographer, it is important to know what style you prefer, your budget, and what products you would like to receive following your session. Viewing the photographer’s website and social media should give you a good idea of their style and aesthetic. Your photographer’s individual style will impact how they capture you, pose you, how they edit your photos, and the final look of any products you order. Each photographer also has their own pricing structure and products offered. For example, some photographers charge a flat package fee, which often includes both the session fee and specific products. Some photographers charge a session fee for their time, and images produced and/or products selected are purchased separately. Before hiring a photographer, it is important to understand which of these pricing structures they use, so that you can evaluate your budget accordingly. It is also important to consider your compatibility with a photographer, especially for weddings. Posing in front of the camera can feel uncomfortable, and you want to choose a photographer who will make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Especially for weddings, your photographer should be someone you feel comfortable interacting with your family and loved ones for an extended period of time. A photographer’s client reviews should indicate what type of experience you will have with them, and whether or not they will be compatible with you.
