Introduction

I'm obsessed with making unique, memorable, environmental portraits of people and pets. You will be hard pressed to find a photographer who is more committed to making sure you are satisfied with your portrait experience. I really never watch the clock -- while shooting or editing images; I am only concerned with getting things right. I am a member of Professional Photographers of America. I offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you don't like your images, 100% of your session fee will be refunded.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I often craft my pricing depending on the final products/usage needed by the client. Absent a unique situation, my pricing typically includes two cost -- a session fee and the cost of the prints and other products. There is a general outline of my pricing on my website; for more details, please contact me and I will send you a brochure with "a la cart" and package prices.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Generally, every photo session I do consist of three separate meetings -- a pre-session planning session; the photo session itself; and a personal reveal of your images with personal advice on how best to display them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Decades of work as a photographer. Additionally, as it relates to photographing dogs, I have been a professional dog trainer in the past, so I have the ability to handle and read dogs very well.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started by photographing subjects for my own personal enjoyment, getting increasingly involved with lighting. An expertise with both environmental and studio lighting grew from an obsession. Soon I was doing model portfolio work, personal portraits and treating one of my favorite subjects, dogs, as uber models.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with -- and enjoyed working with -- a wide variety of people and their pets. I've also had a long career in sales, so I get along well with all types of people.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently did a photo session for an image that appeared in the 2016 Petco Foundation Calendar. That project was particularly fun for many reasons -- especially knowing that the calendar raised over $1.5 million for animal rescue organizations.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Anyone can purchase a DSLR and call themselves a professional photographer. Look for a photographer who has exceptional command of the lighting in his/her images and is producing images that are truly unique. Avoid photographers that are not willing to guarantee their work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. Why do you want to record these images? 2. What FEELING/EMOTION do you want your images to convey? 3. Where will these images be displayed?
