Christian Johnston worked for Viacom's MTV and VH1 in various capacities in television and film production as well as animation before turning his sights to photography in 2003.
Born in NYC and raised in Virginia he returned to his birthplace in 1989 and has come full circle after 28+ returning to Virginia.
He started his career in photography in 2003 where he worked predominately as a contributing photographer for the New York Post where he photographed feature stories. His work is syndicated through Splash and Polaris agencies. He has had many clients outside of the New York Post from magazines to private clients.
He received a grant from the BAC (Brooklyn Arts Council) and sponsorship from NYFA (New York Foundation for the Arts) for his project The Fisherman of Sheepshead Bay. He has exhibited his personal work in galleries in NYC and Virginia. He has been a guest speaker at The New School in NYC and Crossing the Lines in Brooklyn.
