Introduction

Hi, I'm Clark! I'm a photographer who specializes in capturing the unique beauty of every person and every special moment you trust me with. I've been drawn to cameras my whole life, always attempting to capture the beauty I see around me in everyone and everything. My journey through editing, film, videography, school photography, and street photography led me here: portraits. What I heard time and time again when people came around the camera at a photoshoot to see the pictures was some version of: "I've never seen myself like this." There is nothing quite like that magical moment of recognition. When someone's eyes light up, seeing the beauty in themselves, or in their family, or in their partner in a brand new light. This is what I strive for with EVERY picture. I believe every person should be able to access that feeling. Regardless of who you are, where you came from, who you love, or how much money you make. I strive to make my services affordable, safe, and inclusive. I am here to serve my community- but especially those people who have been historically underserved- BIPOC people, the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodiverse people. All those wonderful folks whose joy needs to be seen and lifted up. I'm here for you, I'm here for everyone. Ask about sliding scale payment options! For all your photo needs, I'm here to help. Let's get in touch!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Think of my pricing more as a ballpark. Every project is different and the pricing will reflect that in a way that balances making amazing photos accessible to everyone. (And keeping my lights on!) My cancellation/rescheduling policy is as follows: Up to 48 hours before the shoot - free rescheduling (subject to availability) or refund minus half of deposit Less than 48 hours to the shoot - $75 rescheduling fee (subject to availability) or refund minus deposit

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Right off the bat, it's important to get to work on the most important details. 1. What kind of photoshoot is right for you? Do you need a quick shoot or an all day event shoot? This plays a major role in determining the cost and number of photos you'll get at the end. 2. Where do you imagine your perfect photos? A beautiful park? A magnificent venue? The top of a mountain? Got ideas? Need ideas? We'll figure out the perfect spot. 3. All that out of the way, let's pick a date and time!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I've been taking pictures on my family's various cameras since I was a kid, finally getting my first camera way back in 2008! I went to college at University of California Santa Cruz, studying Film and Digital Media. While there I took photos in the beautiful California redwoods and along the beach and cliff dotted coast. As you'd imagine, a lot of people in film school are also into photography, and I learned just as much if not more from adventuring and creating with my peers. The learning process didn't stop there though! I'm constantly trying to up my game and my passion drives me to learn ever more about photography.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After graduating from UC Santa Cruz, my first goal was to work in the film industry, but the grind of LA life was just not my speed. Still wanting to stay behind the camera, I did Videography work for several years all over the West Coast. For years, I was taking photos for fun of my friends and family while just working day jobs to pay the bills, but I was sure I had the skill to do it for a living. After the pandemic upended our lives, I took the upheaval as a chance to change my path- and here I am!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with TEDx, the tourism board of Taiwan, local Seattle businesses, newlyweds, brand new couples, all types of graduates, students, LGBTQIA+ people, entire families, professionals, theater and film actors, the YMCA, influencers, models, bands, artists, people of every conceivable race and ethnicity, and so so so many more! Help me make this list longer!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
This January (2023), I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding at an aquarium. The ceremony was held in front of a huge glass wall with sharks and fish and turtles swimming by. It was a challenge but I'm so proud of the results, and the newlyweds love the photos they received! This wedding was a quick one, clocking in at only 2 hours. They received their images within 2 weeks!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Price is ever important, but don't underestimate style and talent behind the camera. $100 certainly matters a lot today, but these photos and memories will last forever. Another tip is picking someone you think you will vibe with. If you find yourself nodding along to my writing here, or even someone else's- follow your gut.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think a good amount about exactly what it is you want and how much you are willing to pay for it. How many images? What do I want them to look like? Will I want to print these? When will we take these pictures? How would I like them delivered?
