Introduction

If you are looking for any photographer or whoever charges the least, I am not the right one for you. Photography is my job and my passion. I believe creating a memorable, quality image takes time, knowledge and experience to come up with the right setup, lighting, composition and equally important work the chemistry. Getting to know my clients, as people, professionals or aspirations is part of my job. My artistic goal is to deliver a quality image which reveals my clients inner and outer beauty or takes their product on a higher level esthetically and professionally and this is a skill I am confident I have.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing depends on the number of images, retouch level, duration of shoot, number of people on set and lighting requirement. A standard portraiture session lasts 30 - 45 min, I provide guidance with posing and outfit selection. Modeling/Acting shoots require 2 hours in studio or in street and can have 4 - 5 outfit changes. Commercial shoots with models usually take a full-day. I have a team of MUA, Hair and Stylists and can provide references for models as necessary, which are in addition to the prices listed. I provide a 20% discount if a referral of yours books me for the same and higher-end service.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I prefer to speak and if possible meet with the client before the shoot to understand their goals for the shoot, discuss outfit changes, accessories, lighting and poses. Once we select the time and day, I prepare a Client Agreement which states the details of the shoot, number of images, rights to the images and prices. I require a 20% deposit to confirm your appointment. For the shoot I prepare a backdrop color of your choice (if in studio), put on your favorite music and beverage if needed. I style throughout the shoot for messy make up, hair and clothes if I don't have an assistant with me. After the shoot, you can expect a preview gallery online, within 24 hours, where you can select your favorite images based on our agreement. Once you have made your selection, you can expect your retouched finals within 3 business days.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My favorite works is shooting people and representing their charm and personality in their portrait. I believe half of the picture is the ability to bond with your subject, gain their trust and make them feel relaxed.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Actors, musicians, dancers, married couples, divorcees, single people looking to post on dating websites, professionals needing photos for blogs, newsletters etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I shot 25 artisans working in various media in Florence, Italy. I lived in the artisanal neighborhood (Oltrarno) for two months and walked into studios, workshops, met the artisans and spent several hours with them shooting and learning about their skill/art, most often passed down from generations. The body of work will be presented in an exhibit in NYC.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Don't just look at the price, look for someone you can connect with. If you don't trust or feel comfortable with your photographer, you cannot be yourself in the photo. Long term career, or cover publications doesn't mean a photographer is a good people's person. Seak the connection!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What do they aim with their shoot? Where would they like to shoot - indoors or outdoors? What are they wearing? Do they connect with the photographer on more than budget?
