What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Quotes are free, all pricing is written with a formal proposal that is agreed between both parties. Any changes or deviations from the signed written proposal need to be in writing and agreed to by all parties.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We typically start with a phone call to talk about the scope of work, needs and desires and rough budget. Once we are both comfortable an in person meeting at the job site is scheduled to go over all the details. The client will then receive a written proposal and pricing, generally withing 2-3 days of the meeting.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been a carpenter since 1992. From rough framing all the way to the finish carpentry.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

When I was 18 a neighbor took me to work with him. He was a custom home carpenter. I fell in love and the rest is history.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked for contractors and builders doing new construction as well as all types of home owners on remodeling and upgrading their homes.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I give two pieces of advice. First is that good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good. Consider all the factors when reviewing written proposals. Second is make sure whomever you choose is clearly investing in him/herself. Professionals are constantly looking to improve their skills through added training and choosing jobs that push them to improve. They are constantly investing in tools. This ensure your job is completed with the most current technology/methods and is performed in as efficient fashion as possible ultimately saving you the client money. Hire the best the first time.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Make sure you have a clear vision for your job. Have photos or drawings of what it is you are looking for. Have a clear cut budget. It wastes everyone's time to have a scope of work that is unrealistic compared to your budget.
