Introduction

I am genuinely and abundantly passionate about what I do. I treat each client need with the special attention it deserves, focusing on their unique vision, style and goals. I facilitate client projects with over 35 years of Leisure Architecture Design & Build expertise. I work hard for each project and truly cherish the entire process. My favorite moment is when a client has that first glance at what I've created for them. I love to see their happiness upon seeing their vision become a reality and the experience of bringing to life what many of my competitors may not have deemed possible.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
By holding multiple licenses as Architect & Civil Engineer, I can offer my clients what few others can... the peace of mind that I'm a full-service choice for them. I am qualified and licensed to plan, design & build any project without requiring you to contract anyone other than Micro Resorts from beginning to end. I hold the liability, responsibility and control over the full-scale project. Therefore, I offer my services at a fair price for the quality you're getting. You may not find me to be the least expensive option, but you get a Designer & Builder in one who gets the job done correctly the first time. My clients have found that saved them money, time and a lot of stress in the end and are delightfully satisfied with their final project.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I have mastered a profoundly important skill...listening! I may have dozens of ideas, but none are important unless they match the plans you and your family have made together. I meet with new clients and their families at their home for free and listen to them tell me about their lifestyle, ideas, near future plans, challenges and vision. I take into account with great importance, their culture, home activities, and each person's individual preferences. Only then can I begin to provide options that will fascinate the entire family and offer genuine solutions that match their budget and style.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a proud member of both the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) with a background in Civil & Structural Engineering. A major project with Disney’s Epcot Center Imagineers made a lasting impression on me that led me towards a specialty in Leisure Design. On that team, I was able to expand my definition of a “successful job”. I don’t just aim to give my clients something beautiful and well built, I aim for the project to amplify their overall enjoyment of the home experience altogether.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Working for Disney's EPCOT Center in Orlando, Florida. I was hired then to assist the project's structural Engineers and found that my passion was actually in Leisure Architecture. Though well versed in Structural and Civil Engineering, I find that with Leisure and Landscape Architecture, a higher degree of creativity is required. I also found that it was a nostalgic experience for me, having grown up in a modest town in Central America with very little wealth or resources. I made it a life-long practice to find fulfillment in closing my eyes and imagining beautiful places for the optimal enjoyment of life. A habit that once got me through tough times, has now helped catapult my career and I've delivered dozens of mini "retreats" or what I like to call, Micro Resorts.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with customers from multi-cultural backgrounds on Design-Build projects focused around elevating their "home life". This includes a combination of water, fire, sound, and the complete Micro Resort's experience that promotes relaxation, enjoyment and happiness. My aim is to have a holistic, functional and enjoyable experience for everyone in the home, from Grandma to baby.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
In the City of Danville, Ca, we launched a project with all the necessary permits required to import clean soil for this Engineered Eco-Fill site for a large residential estate. From concept to final execution, it took us 1-1/2 years to Design and Build. The fill site was used to level out a new flat and safe area for multiple leisure-retreat areas including a large play area, bocce ball court, a state-of-the-art tree house and beautiful patios. It was a truly unique multi-generational Micro Resort.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Value professionals who genuinely listen, consider important aspects of your lifestyle and preferences, appreciate your ideas and leave you feeling like they took your ideas to heart authentically. Otherwise, you could end up with something that while aesthetically pleasing, you end up never using. The best projects aren’t just nice to look at. The best projects are beautiful but also solve problems and bring you closer to your overall home goals.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Ask for a professional's credentials and licenses first and foremost. I've come across too many clients who have lost precious time and money by trusting an unqualified source simply because they were low-cost or the most affordable option. Second, ask what experience and/or ideas they might have with your particular family-type, culture, favorite design style and daily lifestyle needs in mind. I've hit the mark on client projects that had specific requests that other professionals kept ignoring or were told couldn’t be done. I pride myself on being someone who has delivered on my client's wishes and my ultimate acknowledgement of success has been staying in touch with clients years after a project and seeing that they STILL love what I created for them, even if it was a much different project than they initially thought they needed.
