Since I was a child, I have felt most alive while working with my hands. The process of imagining, designing, and bringing a creation to fruition, has always fulfilled my heart with deep joy. However, the"voice of reason" in my head over the years meant that working with my hands, being an artist, pursuing a craft, and doing what I love, wasn't an appropriate career path for me. And I listened. So, I forged onward, focusing on less creative ventures. Over the last 40 years I have explored and had great success in a few different career paths. In my journey, I have acquired many valuable lessons and adventures, and have amassed countless life experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. The events of the last couple years have given me pause, causing me to reevaluate my goals, my dreams, and the path I am currently on. Although I have been incredibly blessed in my most recent career, even in the midst of a worldwide pandemic , I slowly started to reevaluate my purpose and thus revisit what makes me come most alive. It's time to stop fully relying on the "voice of reason" in my head and start paying better attention to the voice in my heart. And then, Rooted-Heart Woodworks seed was sown. The concept behind Rooted-Heart: God has designed us all uniquely, with each of us having many different "roots" to our heart, and many different avenues of finding happiness and fulfillment. Personally, a rooted heart helps me stay grounded and reminds me of what is important. And Rooted-Heart Woodworks is my next step in embracing something I have had a burning desire to do my entire life. It's a way to make sure that my soul is nourished while at the same time crafting unique, high quality pieces that our clients will love & cherish for a lifetime to come.
