Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I don't charge anything for a consultation, but once we settle on a rough estimate then I require a 50% non refundable deposit for purchasing materials. I am workable on the price of something if people have a budget they are trying to work with.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I will ask a few questions to understand exactly what the needs and expectations are and then will send out a rough estimate. Once we've agreed on an estimate then I will get a deposit for materials and put you on my build list. I provide a 3D Drawing with most projects so that nothing is missed and they will be able to see what it looks like in scale. Then we will build and keep you updated all along the way. Then we schedule delivery and you enjoy.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have done commercial framing for five years and then worked at western timer frame in lehi for another 5 years. All the while increasing my skills and ability to turn wood into functional pieces that will endure longer than I will.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Fell in love with working wood from an early age and started to build things in my spare time to replace cheap furniture that was around me. After building enough things for friends and family I more tools and experience to build better furniture with better materials.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Anyone who is looking for something that will last a lifetime and not just something you'll get from target or Walmart, I can help fulfill the needs of people who want to make the house they live in a better place.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I created an extending table table design and built it from scratch. It was very challenging and took me about a month from start to finish but it was very rewarding in the end.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Try to see value in the craftsmanship and skill of how your furniture is built and not just the price tag. Ultimately, furniture is something that you use every day and so it should be something that you love and brings you joy to use.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Am I looking for a forever piece to be custom made or just something cheap that can be bought elsewhere
