Our goal is to make your remodeling experience smooth, transparent, and successful from start to finish.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At Topaz Remodeling Inc., our training comes from generations of hands-on experience. Our journey began with my father, who learned the trade by working alongside his father in Israel, gaining real-world construction skills from a young age. He later brought that experience to California, where he founded Topaz Remodeling nearly 19 years ago.
We’ve continued that tradition, learning the craft directly in the field — from framing and finish work to full remodels — by working closely with experienced professionals. Over time, we’ve combined this deep, hands-on training with continued learning in building codes, safety practices, and modern remodeling techniques to ensure every project meets the highest standards.
Our knowledge comes from decades of doing the work — not just studying it and it shows in every job we complete.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
At Topaz Remodeling Inc., our training is rooted in generations of hands-on experience. Our story begins with my father, who learned the trade working side-by-side with his own father in Israel. Every day after school, he’d head to job sites, gaining real-world knowledge in construction, craftsmanship, and the value of hard work from a young age.
When he moved to California, he brought that experience with him and founded Topaz Remodeling nearly 19 years ago. That same hands-on training and deep understanding of the trade was passed down to us, the next generation. We grew up learning the business by working alongside him just like he did with his father.
Over the years, we've combined that practical, on-the-job experience with continued learning in local building codes, safety standards, project management, and customer service. This mix of old-school craftsmanship and modern techniques is what sets Topaz Remodeling apart.
What types of customers have you worked with?
At Topaz Remodeling Inc., we’ve had the privilege of serving a diverse range of homeowners across Washington some with very high expectations and luxurious lifestyles.
High-net-worth homeowners on Lake Washington, similar to those who once owned Russell Wilson and Ciara’s Bellevue estate, which featured more than 11,000 sq ft, a private dock, treehouse, home gym, and lakefront views. We understand the precision, coordination, and attention to detail required for large-scale, custom remodels in upscale estates like that.
Luxury property residents in exclusive enclaves like Hunts Point or Medina areas associated with homeowners such as Bezos and Gates. Projects in those neighborhoods demand strict standards of quality, design, and privacy, and our team is well-versed in delivering refined transformations in high-end homes.
Longtime Seattle residents with deep roots, such as individuals in artistic or celebrity circles think Eddie Vedder or Elizabeth Mitchell who value eco-friendly, character driven improvements that respect the Northwest’s aesthetic. We’ve helped homeowners seamlessly blend modern amenities with local charm and sustainable materials.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One recent project we’re especially proud of was a full kitchen remodel for a family in Redmond, WA. The homeowners wanted a modern, open-concept kitchen with custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, and high-end finishes. The project was scheduled to take about six weeks, and everything started off right on track.
But during the cabinet delivery phase which is a critical part of the remodel, we ran into a major issue: several of the custom cabinets arrived with the wrong dimensions, and a few panels had mismatched finishes. It was a manufacturing error, and correcting it through the original supplier would have delayed the entire project by several weeks.
Instead of letting the project fall behind, our team took action immediately. We contacted one of our trusted local cabinet builders and explained the situation. Within 48 hours, we had a plan in place, a fast tracked build underway, and our install team rearranged the schedule to keep work moving on other parts of the kitchen.
Because of that flexibility and teamwork, we were able to install the correct cabinets on time, complete the countertop and tile work as planned, and deliver a fully finished kitchen by the original deadline.
The result? A beautifully remodeled space the homeowners absolutely loved and a great reminder of why problem-solving and communication are just as important as craftsmanship in this business.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When hiring a remodeling contractor, it’s important to choose someone you can trust to deliver quality work and clear communication from start to finish. Here’s the advice I’d offer:
-Do your research. Look for companies with strong reviews, verified credentials, and a portfolio of completed projects similar to what you want.
-Ask questions. A good contractor should be willing to explain their process, timeline, and costs clearly and listen carefully to your needs.
-Check references. Don’t hesitate to speak with previous clients to learn about their experience firsthand.
-Get everything in writing. Detailed contracts help avoid surprises and keep everyone accountable.
-Choose a company that values communication and problem-solving. Remodeling projects can have unexpected challenges—working with a team that stays transparent and proactive makes all the difference.
At Topaz Remodeling Inc, we strive to embody all these qualities and believe that building trust with our customers is just as important as building beautiful spaces.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before you start talking to remodeling professionals, it’s helpful to have a few key questions in mind to make the conversation productive and ensure your project goals are clear:
-What is my budget? Knowing your budget helps professionals recommend options that fit your financial plan.
-What’s my timeline? Are you looking for a quick update or a full remodel? Understanding your schedule helps set realistic expectations.
-What are my must-haves vs. nice-to-haves? Identify the essential features you want versus things you’re flexible on.
-What style or design do I prefer? Gather inspiration photos or ideas to share your vision clearly.
-How will I use the space? Think about functionality and how your family’s lifestyle affects the design.
-Are there any special considerations? This could include permits, HOA rules, accessibility needs, or existing structural challenges.
