I use a truck mounted steam cleaning unit that is very well-maintained which provides a very clean end result! I know what it takes to do a mediocre job and I know what it takes to go above and beyond. Above and beyond is the zone I operate in for each and every customer! I've been cleaning carpets, upholstery, and tile/grout for over 20 years. It's something that I've always enjoyed. Every day is different, and I like working with my hands and seeing people's reactions to their houses looking so much better. I'm an owner/operator, so the quality is always very high, and my prices are very fair. Don't expect bait-and-switch selling with me, just honest pricing and great work!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Most of my new customers who are not referrals are very concerned about how much a job will cost. They shouldn't be. I price my jobs at a reasonable rate-25 cents a square foot for carpet cleaning, on average-and always do the best possible job. Some companies price carpet cleaning as high as 50 cents a square foot, which can get very expensive. Other companies price jobs by the room, and charge anywhere from $15-$50 per room. This sounds good to some people, until they realize that bathrooms, hallways, and walk-in closets are "rooms." I only charge for areas that are cleaned based on the size of the rooms, which I think is more honest and fair to customers.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First of all, I thank new customers for choosing me. I know that there is a lot of competition for carpet cleaners, and I sincerely appreciate someone picking me. Then, I like to see what their concerns are and do my best to address them. A good walk through of the job is very important here, and I will let customers know if stains, smells, and other problems will come out. Finally, before any work is started, I give new customers an exact price for the job, so there are no surprises.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am certified by the IICRC in carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and carpet repair.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I received a degree in criminal justice to become a police officer, but when I was about to start applying for a job, I had a change of heart and decided to do something totally different. I haven't looked back since!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I've been doing this for over 20 years, so I've seen pretty much every kind of person and situation that you can imagine!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I did a job for a new customer in Westminster about a month ago. It was an empty house with some bad staining throughout the house, and when I was finished she said that the carpet looked like new and was very happy. I had a great time working with this couple, and now they are regular customers. I spent about 3 or 4 hours on this job.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I know that it's a little intimidating hiring someone for a project in your home. I've been there too. You may get a great, honest service guy who is committed to doing the best possible job. Or, sometimes, you may get just the opposite. Do your homework and check with the BBB, or see online reviews. Personal referrals are also important.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Customers should be realistic about how a job will turn out and how much it will cost. If a carpet hasn't been cleaned in 15 years, and is rarely vacuumed, it probably won't come out like new. Also, doing an entire house of carpet cleaning will probably cost more than $80!
