Introduction

Hello, I've been doing carpet and upholstery cleaning for 25 years and really enjoy it! I find it very satisfying to be hands on and see the results of my work personally. Honesty and high standards are how I've always run my business, whether it's using several different chemicals on a dirty spot, keeping my equipment well-maintained, or always trying to be on-time with appointments. I'm also a firm believer in honest pricing. I don't do any bait-and-switch scams, giving out a super low price on the phone, only to triple it at the house! Also, as an owner-operator, I will be doing the best possible job!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
As a veteran myself, and someone who respects the military, I give a 10% military discount. My prices are very fair, and I don’t raise them when I get to the house—unless a customer wants to add on to the original estimate. Also, my minimum charge for any job is $100.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My process with a new customer is basically the same as with a repeat customer. We usually agree on a price for the job, set up a time and date for the work, and meet at that time.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am certified by the IICRC in carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and carpet repair.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I used to be in the restaurant management business, but I got tired of the long, crazy hours. I had done carpet cleaning after high school, and remembering how much I had enjoyed it, I decided to do it again!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One job that stands out is when I did a carpet cleaning for a longtime customer who lives next to a golf course. She’s a great person, and I liked watching golfers play while I was working for her!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would make sure that they hire a carpet cleaner with a truck mounted machine. It’s cheap and easy to buy a small portable machine and some cheap chemicals , but this setup won’t do nearly as good a job as a powerful, large machine.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I would recommend not taking the cheapest bid. There is a reason for a company being cheap—they may not show up for the job, be very late, not have business insurance, and/or do poor quality work.
