What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After making contact with a new customer, depending on distance and project complexity i may need to make a initial visit in order to see exactly what needs to be done and give a good estimate. Then I'll give the Estimate and wait for the client to accept or have questions that I will answer. After the Client has accepted the estimate then we schedule the clients project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

2 years working in a furniture company, where I learned about wood finishes, welding, furniture design. 2 years working for a general contractor as a superintendent. Learned about budgeting projects, building methods, customer liaison, managing a three man crew, commercial designing for a resturant, epoxy flooring, lightining 2 years remodeling my own 4 townhomes for rental. 4 years remodeling two seperate hotels.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started by working in my own homes. Then neighbors and work and it just became a passion for me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Ive worked for all types of clients. From an elderly widow whose husband was a WWII vet, to the retired International Produce Purchasing Manager for North America in Blue Ridge. I enjoy working with any Client, Every Client is different and it just means I try to get a vision of what you want before we get started.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Three Months redesigning a Pizza Resturant. It was in a commercial metal building that had been seven different business. The owner wanted the seating area expanded. I mentioned how about raising the ceiling and getting rid of the drop ceiling. He said "you can do that?" Apparently he had asked three other contractors and I was the only one that said it was possible. Completely trasnformed the entire space. Opened him up space to add a bar and solidify his place in the market as a great resturant.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Figure out what you want it to look like before hiring. I wont choose your color for you; made that mistake before and had to repaint twice. I can give you options but ultimately it will be your decisions that make your project.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

1) Budget for the project 2) How quickly you need the project, problem resolved
