Introduction

We are a Chicago area carpet, upholstery and on-location drapery cleaning company. We have been cleaning some of the areas finest properties, such as The Four Seasons Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel and other commercial properties since 1999. We offer the same outstanding service to our residential customers at a competitive price. Our multi-step cleaning process: 1. All carpeted areas are pre-treated using 3 types of environmentally safe cleaners that breakdown soil along with spots and stains. 2. This is followed by a steam cleaning using an all fiber rinse that neutralizes any cleaners used. This leaves the carpet soft to the touch and residue free. It also contains a soil retardant, which means the carpet stays cleaner longer. The all fiber rinse also deodorizes. 3. Any stains that don’t respond to normal cleaning are treated with the proper cleaner. This multi-step process delivers excellent results We also offer a low moisture cleaning process that's dry in 1 hour. This works well on low to moderately soiled carpet. Once we get the info we need from you to give a firm cost, that cost will not change once we arrive to clean. If the info is accurate that's the price you'll pay. We won't try to sell you a traffic pre-spray, your already getting the whole carpet pre-treated. We won't try to sell a deodorizer, your already getting it with the all fiber rinse. This is all delivered at a competitive cost. We've been on Thumbtack for a while, read our reviews. we deliver on what we promise. Upholstery Cleaning: We have the ability to wet-clean or dry-clean. This means we can safely and effectively clean any fabric. We take pride in our attention to detail and making sure we understand what cleaning issues or problems are of most concern to our customers.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our pricing for carpet cleaning is based on the number of rooms to be cleaned or square footage, condition of carpet whether traffic areas or bad stains, problem areas you are concerned about. Our standard pricing includes a pre-treatment comprised of 3 cleaners followed by a hot water extraction with an all fiber rinse that deodorizes and neutralizes any cleaners used to leave your carpet residue free. You will know what your paying be fore we get to your home. That price wont change as long as the information you gave us is accurate. For upholstery it's style, couch, love seat etc. It's not really complicated. The more info we have the easier it is to give an accurate cleaning cost.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When first talking with the customers, whether by phone or email, we want to pinpoint any areas of concern they have. Then we can discuss if it's something that usually responds to normal cleaning or needs special attention. When we arrive at the home we do a walk through with the customer. They can show us any areas of concern and we can provide them with realistic expectations.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have taken many training courses over the years, carpet cleaning, spot removal, odor treatment, upholstery cleaning, drapery cleaning. I also subscribe to several trade publications and news letters. We are always staying current with new equipment, cleaners & techniques.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was the Operations Manager for a company that manufactured retail and industrial cleaning products, carpet cleaners, spot removers and laundry pre-wash. We also had a division that did primarily commercial carpet, upholstery and on-location drapery cleaning in mainly hotels. We did work in The Four Seasons and The Ritz-Carlton, two properties that I currently service. The retail end of the company ran into problems in the late 90's. The company folded and I acquired the service end of the business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning are the most common type jobs that we do for our residential customers on a daily basis. Everything from normal cleaning to water damage, pet stains and odors. We can clean any fabric safely and effectively.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently was referred to a customer who had their furniture cleaned and it turned brown in areas. They weren't having any luck in getting the company who did the work to fix their problem. The furniture was cleaned with a product that had a high pH, more than likely a carpet cleaning product. This will cause a browning problem on some fabrics. I used an all fiber rinse which has a low pH. This totally neutralized the browning after several treatments. It did take 4 hours, but it saved a sofa, love seat and chair.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for experience, competitive pricing. Be wary of ads that sound too good to be true. such as clean any room $9.95. Then when they get there the price goes up. We do give pricing over the phone. We ask a series of questions, we can give a cost based on the answers. If everything is as described over the phone that's the cost.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Have all of your concerns been addressed. Do you feel confident that the company you are hiring can do the job. Is the cost competitive for the services provided, not necessarily cheapest. You want to have a firm cost based on the information you provided, not a low ball price that's going to change when they get there..
