I'm Josh McCormack, Owner of Mac's Carpet Care in Smyrna, TN. I have been in the industry for 10+ years but have been in business for myself for a few years. I am the sole owner and operator of my business and do all the work myself. I am not the cheapest or most expensive carpet cleaner. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

For residential carpet cleaning, my prices are based on the room, not the square footage. I do not charge extra for removing basic stains and soiling.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My father owned his own residential carpet cleaning company for 25 years. I have worked for a couple of the big name competitors.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father was self employed in this industry for 30 years. I worked for Chemdry and Safedry here in Tennessee for a long while as well.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of customers. No discrimination of any kind here!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Definitely hire a company where the owner of the company is coming into the home to do the work! Do not hire a big name brand company who is sending a technician into your home. That technician wants in and out as fast as possible and wants his check at the end of the week. He is not concerned if you are a repeat customer because that is on the company, not him. A owner doing the work will take his time and do the job to your satisfaction because he wants you to be a returning customer!
