Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We have different prices for different types of cleaning services and each price is variable, Here is some description between regular cleaning and deep cleaning. Regular cleaning is the kind you do on a daily and weekly basis. Sweeping the floors, mopping the bathrooms and kitchen, dusting, laundry, dishes, vacuuming the carpets, clean out the fridge and so forth. Deep cleaning is the kind you map out, and depending on the size of your house, could take one person several days. Deep cleaning is when you scrub down the walls, wash and wax the floors, clean windows inside and out, clear and defrost the freezer, wipe out cabinets, polish the silver, straighten up drawers, launder the bed covers and pillows, clean the oven, put in fresh shelf liners, clean the upholstery, steam clean the carpets, wash the curtains, scrub the baseboards, hose down the patio and furniture. Get the picture? When hiring a professional there is a difference in the price too. Weekly or bi-monthly cleaning is of course less than your deep clean. Deep clean can also be referred to as a "move out" or "move in" cleaning. Professionals will send a crew and this can run on average of $250- $300. (And that is without furniture and personal items on the scene).

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Contact the customer to know their specific needs and how often our service is required to establish the right pricing. Is there any specifics that would like to address? An area not to be touched or included? Will we need to order consumables or will the customer take care of the inventory (paper towels, toilet paper, kitchen towels, hand soap, etc.)?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
OSHA Personal Protective Equipment, Bloodborne Pathogens and safety in your workplace. Carpet and floors care and maintenance. Handling of different cleaning products. Green cleaning products and procedures.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was an employee to a cleaning company before becoming self employed.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Construction companies, medical research labs, medical facilities, food industry, publicity and real estate agencies, tech companies and many others

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Asses your needs and decide the types of services you would like to have: Regular or Deep cleaning, probably a combination? Also, identify types of floors: carpet, wood, tile, vinyl... usually is a combination, and if you can have an idea of percentage for each will be helpful. Does the provider service all your needs or will you have to look for another to do certain jobs (windows washing, carpet cleaning, floor maintenance...)?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Is this a one-time service request or you would like to be periodically provided? If recurrent, how often do you need it? Annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly? Once or several times per week? Do you have any cleaning tools on-site (Vacuum, mop, broom, etc.)? Will you provide them or vendor will have to? Who will provide the consumables (Paper towels, kitchen towels, toilet paper, trash liners, hand soap, etc.)? If you will provide them, how do I let you know when running low? Or do I order them for you? About cleaning products, do you prefer to go green (environment friendly products)? Or, are you ok with any commercial products? Would you prefer to use an specific product or brand? Are there any pets coming into the premises either occasionally or on a regular basis? What chores would be needed on each visit and which ones can be scheduled on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis? Would you like to include floor maintenance in the contract? Break down the price on the monthly price or separate?
