What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Clutterfly Junk Removal is a professional junk removal service that handles everything from start to finish. This means we pick up your items from wherever they start, load them up, sweep the area when we finish, and your price will include all disposal and recycling fees. We will give you an up-front, exact price before we start work, but in many cases we do need to see the job in person to give you a price.
Junk removal pricing is based on how much room your items take up in our truck. Our goal is to pack items as efficiently as possible and give you a fair price for excellent service. Give us a call, text, email, or contact us using the form on this page to set up a visit for a free quote on your project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, call, text, email, or contact us here so we have a rough idea of what you need removed and can send the right equipment. We will set up an in-person appointment to see the job and give you an exact price - no games. If you like the price, we will remove your junk or unwanted items right then and there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a home service professional in Maryland and DC for almost 15 years. I previously ran one of Washington, DC's largest home cleaning companies with my business partner. We grew to 40 full-time employees and served almost 10,000 customers each year while maintaining a 4.9 star rating on Google and Yelp. I left to found Clutterfly Junk Removal and offer the same great service to a whole new set of customers.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
In the cleaning business, we fielded a lot of calls for services we didn't offer. Junk removal was the number one service, followed by home and estate cleanouts. I started Clutterfly Junk Removal to meet those needs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with everybody from tenants to landlords and property managers; from homeowners to construction companies; from studio apartments to office buildings and embassies. Let us know what you need and we can help. We have probably seen it before.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Last February, we took down an old wooden fort their kids had played on for a decade, though the last time it had been used was at least 5 years ago. Since then, they had been watching it rot. Finally, they decided to expand their garden into that space and called us, Clutterfly Junk Removal.
We were able to disassemble it and haul it away in a little under 2 hours. The wood was too rotten to safely reuse, but the slide and swings were just fine and were donated to one of our community partners. The family planted 4 apple trees where the fort used to live, one to honor each of their kids.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Professionals always behave professionally. The way you are treated on the phone or while setting an appointment through email is probably the way you'll be treated when people show up at your house. If they rush you on the phone, they will rush you in person. If they avoid answering questions on the phone, they will play games when they show up to set a price.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Think through everything you want hauled away. Junk removal companies spend money on labor and fuel every trip we make, so it's usually cheaper for you to have everything hauled away at once.
