Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
All of our pricing is simple and straightforward, if its flooring it is by the square foot, bathrooms and kitchens are pretty standard. We do not charge differently based on area code or neighborhood it is the same for everyone.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When we begin working with a new client we find out what is needed and what their plan and idea is for the project so that we can get everything taken out that needs to be gone for the new install.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I enjoy building and taking things apart and that helps to understand how they work and grew up build things and helping my father who was very hands on.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After working different warehousing and tech jobs and the down turn in the market many years ago I decided to work for myself. In doing so I started with landscaping and handman work which I very much enjoyed and then after a while I decided to just specialize in Demo. And growing up building and working on things with my dad around the house really helped me.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with customers of all kinds, and economic levels and homeowners, property owners, contractors. From my point of view there is not a project that is too small for me. I want to help as many people as possible.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
The most recent floor we removed was a glued down plank tongue and groove 2" wide. It came out easier than that style of floor would normally because there was a lot of floor leveler used on the slab and it pulled away from the slab with the wood so there was less work to get the wood up and less work removing the adhesive from the slab. It was approximately 600 ft and it took about 1.5 days to demo and haul away.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always feel free to ask as many questions as you feel until you are comfortable. Do not worry about the questions, "sounding dumb" to the contractor is not a feeling you should ever have, ask whatever you feel you need to ask. It is your project and it needs to be completed the way you want.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
People should have some idea of the timeframe for their project and their budget
