Let's be honest, doing your own books is a pain in the ASS! Business owners should be spending time on where their strengths lie. Attracting clients and hitting your goals. Tedious tasks such as bookkeeping are a waste of YOUR time. All the answers to your financial questions should be a phone call away. That's where I come in. A few years ago I started meticulously tracking my personal expenses. This enabled my family to save & invest thousands of dollars early when our income was modest. Then I fell in love with accounting & bookkeeping. So I started my bookkeeping business, JF Bookkeeping Management. Now our personal finances are well established, I'm running a business that I love, and I'm helping other like minded entrepreneurs nurture and oversee their own success. Hi, my name is Jason. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a flat fee. As a bookkeeper charging hourly is a recipe for disaster. I will not prolong the project or take my sweet time to squeeze you for everything you got. The whole point of hiring a bookkeeper is to be more efficient with your time. This also means I don't charge for phone calls or emails with your questions, the price is what the price is. No hidden BS.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First step is diagnosing the problem. I'll take a quick peek at your books and put together a plan with exactly what's wrong with them and how it'll be fixed, with approximate timeframes as well.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Certified Digital Bookkeeper and QuickBooks ProAdvisor. I am also a Digital Bookkeeper Association (DBA) Member.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I wore many hats at my previous job, one of which was managing Liabilities, Payroll, Budgets, tracking KPI's, etc. To which I found a new passion that lead me to going back to school and starting my own business. Now here I am!

What types of customers have you worked with?

From Digital Marketing Agencies to Plumbers and everything in between.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I'm fond of all work I do, none more than the rest. Having accurate Financial Statements and being efficient and knowledgeable is what's expected of me, I accomplish that every single time.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure you and your bookkeeper or accountant are compatible on a personal level. It sounds weird but you should be like this *crosses fingers*. The relationship you have with anyone managing your money should be built on trust, they are responsible for pointing out suspicious transactions going on with YOUR money. The foundation of being a good bookkeeper is honesty and integrity.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Honestly, its the Bookkeeping Professional's responsibility to ask the right questions. Most business owners are not accounting experts, therefore it is our obligation to figure out the precise needs of the client.
