Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
There are discounts available for multi-year contracts.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We have a 5 step process to onboard a client. 1. We meet with you by video conference/telephone to see if our firm is a good fit for your accounting needs. 2. We sign an electronic non-disclosure agreement to allow us to examine your documents. 3. We create a secure portal that allows you to exchange documents and notes with us securely. 4. Within 2 days we review your documents and send an estimated cost to complete your work. 5. We send an electronic engagement letter for signature that allows us to provide professional services.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We have Certified bookkeepers, Certified Public Accountants, and IRS Enrolled Agents on staff to provide services.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My Career in Public Accounting started with Regional Certified Public Accounting Firms and Fortune 100 companies.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Our primary Clients are Non-Profit Organizations, Small Business, Small Business Start-ups, and Partnerships. Our clientele also consists of a small number of individuals. The services provided range from IRS representation to Bookkeeping.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We had a client that was suddenly wealthy and called us 'before' the wealth was distributed. The project took over a month, but saved the client thousands in tax payments.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ask the service provider for a Service Engagement Letter when signing up and check the service provider's credentials based on the service requested. For example, if you require IRS Representation services ask the CPA if they work on tax representation. Some CPAs only work on Financial Statements and Tax Returns, but do not go beyond that. If you are hiring an Enrolled Agent (EA), ask about the areas that the EA can provide added value to your business. For example, an EA that works mostly with Real Estate Clients can provided needed beneficial guidance 'before' tax returns are filed.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. Why am I hiring a professional firm? Sometimes the business owner is quite capable of handling the tax and accounting for their business, but time is limited. 2. What is my objective? Sometimes the objective are: I need quality bookkeeping to make business decisions. My tax situation has become complicated, so I hire a professional. I really need a trusted business partner to help me succeed and I am trying different firms to find a good fit. I am suddenly wealthy and I want to preserve my wealth for my family. 3. Am I looking for a short-term business relationship or a long-term business relationship? There are many bookkeepers and tax preparers and almost all of them can file a tax return. The tax return is not the value added service, the value added service is consultation between tax filing seasons. Last year cannot be changed.
