In this field there are always providers who say "We can get you the biggest refund for your return." While I may not be able to say that (nor do I), I can guarantee that your return will be done to the best of my abilities at a reasonable price and it will be done according to the tax laws with no corners being cut. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Fees are based on the work involved for the services provided. They are NOT based on a percentage of a refund.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will meet with a new client, whether it is in person or on the phone, and review any questions or concerns they may have. We then agree upon the best way to deliver documents (in person, email, through a secure portal) and wrap up the engagement as efficiently as possible.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I participate in industry roundtables and conferences throughout the year as well as meeting with other practitioners to discuss different tax issues.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father has been doing taxes for as long as I can remember and when I was in high school, he gave me a few simple returns to do manually. Since then, I've been hooked and enjoy working with taxes and educating people on their financial situations.

What types of customers have you worked with?

The most common jobs we handle for our clients are individual tax preparation. We also consult with out of state practitioners who may have state specific questions. We provide small business bookkeeping and some budgeting/ financial advice.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My advice to a customer is ask good questions and listen to the answers to get an idea of the type/ quality of service you will receive. Not all the answers will be what you want to hear, but the confidence of the answer and also the fact that the provider would want to research the particular issue further shows that they want to provide the most accurate answer and best service possible.
