Introduction

Hello! I’m Tanya, the founder and owner of Balanced to a T Bookkeeping, where I serve as a virtual bookkeeper. I’m passionate about helping entrepreneurs expand their businesses and grow their wealth through organized, accurate bookkeeping and payroll services. I became a QuickBooks ProAdvisor in February 2019 and am currently working towards my Advanced certification. I’m also certified in Gusto Payroll and Avalara sales tax software. My mission is to collaborate with clients to assess their financial situation and create strategies for long-term success. I aim to provide peace of mind, knowing your finances are in good hands. Whatever your business needs to stay financially on track, I’m here to help. Originally from Lee’s Summit, MO, I’ve been rooted in this community since 1985. After spending over 20 years in healthcare, I decided to shift my career and focus on helping others through bookkeeping. I enjoy spending time outdoors, making memories with family, and tackling number games. Let’s work together so you can focus on growing your business while we manage the bookkeeping!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have package pricing for monthly services. I can customize packages to fit the clients needs. I also charge hourly for clean up work work, catch up work and Quickbooks set-up. If a package is not suitable for your needs I will charge you hourly.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My process is to schedule a consultation either via phone call or zoom. We will go over specific details of your needs, wants and must haves to make sure your bookkeeping is done accurately. Then we will discuss rates and which package fits your needs your needs or if I charge your hourly. Once we figure out all the details I will send you an engagement letter, invoice or monthly bank draft form. Once I receive them back signed and receive payment I can get to work on your books.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Certified Pro-Advisor for Quickbooks.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

A friend of mine that is CPA is an online coach for her bookkeeping course called Have your cake and eat it too. I took her course about a year and a half ago. The course teaches you everything from how to start your business to bookkeeping skills. I also did the Quickbooks training and became certified.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with a variety of types of clients. Some of them include insurance agent, construction, coffee shops, multiple service industries and custom graphic design.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently had a client that was in business for 5 years. They did not do much bookkeeping during that time. They also failed to pay taxes. The bookkeeping they did do was in Quickbooks Desktop. I had them import their desktop version to Quickbooks Online so I would have access to their books. Once everything was imported it took me 3 weeks to complete his bookkeeping for the five years.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I would make sure that you and your bookkeeper are a good fit. That you can communicate and understand each others needs. It is also important to find a bookkeeper that is willing to communicate and work with your tax professional. They need to be able to communicate with each other when it comes to your bookkeeping and taxes.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I would ask myself what tasks do I need my bookkeeper to complete. Including accounts payable, accounts receivable. invoicing, class tracking, account reconciliation, and inventory. Make a list to go over with you bookkeeper. I would ask myself
