What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing should never be a deterrent to someone who would like to book a discovery call. I am open to all sorts of payment arrangements and would love to talk to any and all small business owners about their administrative needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I love to do a discovery call with potential clients. I want to find out who you are, what type of business you have, and what your administrative pain points are in the business. Understanding the inner workings of both you as an individual and entrepreneur and the logistics of running your business puts me on a different level than most other professionals in this space and I strive to both understand and help you achieve the goals that matter to you in your business.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I spent nearly a decade in the banking and insurance industries where attention to detail is important and you’re frequently balancing the varied needs of multiple customers while also maintaining accuracy down to the penny. When I left my corporate position, I was a branch manager in a busy financial institution. I am skilled in customer relationship management, employee management, and project management among the many other services that I offer.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My previous corporate positions in the financial sector showed me that I loved fast-paced work environments where attention to detail was important and there were always multiple balls in the air. When I left my corporate job, I wanted something that would allow me to consult with and provide services to small businesses to help them grow, but also give me variety in the day-to-day job functions. This industry allows me to work with small businesses across all industries and all areas of the United States doing all kinds of different things. Small business owners go in to business because they have something that they’re passionate about, but that passion tends to burn out when the owners enter administrative overload. I want to save business owners from that burn out!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with customers in a variety of industries from education, activities for children, construction trades, insurance, finance, health & wellness, and just about everything in between! My niche is small business, but I am skilled in many areas that can lend to successful small businesses across every industry.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Most of the business owners that find me are struggling with administrative overwhelm. I love to really get down in the trenches with business owners, understand what they’re up against, and help take care of all the things that they feel are slipping through the cracks and causing them stress. The timelines on my work vary depending on the scope of the project, but I love long-term clients and have many that I’ve worked with for many years!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It’s important to make sure that the skill set and skill level that you’re hiring for match the contractor that you’re looking to work with. There are many people in the administrative support field that can perform basic administrative support functions, but there aren’t a lot who really want to dive in to your business with you and make you successful. Be sure to differentiate whether you want to hire someone who can check off the items on a to-do list, or whether you want someone who can understand and help facilitate the vision that you have for your business and where you want to take it.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

It is important to understand what you’re wanting to arrive at for an end-result. What does the completed project look like? It’s also important to understand which tasks and projects you’re comfortable handing off to another individual. As small business owners, we tend to treat our business as our child. We guard and protect it while also nurturing it and elements of bringing in an administrative support professional can require you to be comfortable handing off some degree of control. It is also important to consider your mentality on how the project should be completed. Do you want to bring on someone who is going to follow a strict, step-by-step instructional list that you provide, or do you want someone who is creative and likes to think outside the box?
