I have a bachelor's degree in accounting and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). I am an active candidate for the CPA and already passed the tax (regulation) portion. I have large tax franchise experience and have been preparing and filing tax for over 7 years. I work as a lead accountant for the government.

My interest was to concentrate in auditing and financial reporting as an accountant. However, when I started getting tons of questions relating to taxes, I felt that I should know them, so I would research them to assist others. My interest grew and I decided to gain the work experience and worked for companies such as HR Block and TurboTax.

I worked with varying types of clients from the simple filer who just has a w2 to more complex returns that includes k1s, rentals, multiple states and much more.

I had to work on an estimated Profit and Loss statement for one of my tax clients. It took about two hours.

There are a lot of tax preparers who just punch numbers into a software which can be costly for you in the long run. You want someone who understands the tax law and will take the time to research complex issues just so you have the peace of mind that you filed an accurate return and benefited from all the credits and deduction applicable to you.
