Introduction

Revised for 2024: As in the past, we at Tech of The Town Inc. work hard to provide our clients with exceptional customer service, expertise and a job well done. As a team we have well over 20 years combined experience in everything from basic troubleshooting of electronics, smart devices and low voltage systems. All the way to helping your builder or contractor in creating a custom smart home experience, complete with security cameras, distributed Wi-Fi, whole home audio and low voltage lighting. We have kept our prices unchanged for 5 years. But due to our recent economy. We’ve brought our prices up to where our legitimate competitors used to be last year. A large factor in this is also that Thumbtack has kindly quadrupled what they charge for lead fees. Which we, along with anyone else on here providing services pays for, whether you hire them or not. Please understand that when hiring us, you’re not hiring a guy out of a car. Or someone that does this part time. We’re a legitimate company, with insurance, employees, vehicles, and a warehouse full of inventory. All of this to say, we charge what we’re worth, and what will keep us in business to be around to help you for years to come. If you’re looking for a 50 dollar in house service call…please visit your nearest gas station and call someone else. If you think asking us to come do something and then trying to negotiate by telling us how easy the job is, please, save us the lead fee and just do it yourself. If you’re looking for us to compete with Mr. 18 reviews on Thumbtack, please just call us when the tv he hung falls. After over a decade and a half in the industry I’ve personally seen it all. No I won’t cut my price in half to get the job. I will however match any legitimate estimate with like products and like labor estimates. So if you treat us like professionals, we’ll treat you like family. And if you’re still with us…thanks for reading this far. Looking forward to working with you. Zsolt D.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Our pricing is never set in stone. We offer volume discounts, military discounts, charity work and as always, we can cater and customize a full sized project budget to your needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We tend to want to get a phone call out of the way and then meet in person to set up any larger estimates. For smaller jobs a phone call is usually enough for both parties to see if we're a good fit.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
15 years of IT, Computer Repair, Network Maintenance, School Administration, Custom Installations, CCTV, Electronics repair and low voltage wiring.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've been doing this since I was 16 in High School.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We've had the pleasure of working with everyone from the average joe, celebrities, athletes, to commercial accounts such as Mc Donald's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Green N'Clean, Advanced Auto Parts, Vaugh College and Yoga Labs. Just to name a few.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Don't just look at the price. Be educated about market standards, overall materials, and the people you're looking to hire.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Budget Budget Budget, have a number in mind, and be realistic. Everything has a cost. So if you want all the fixings, be ready to budget for them. Weigh your needs versus wants. And always consider that you're not always right.
