Introduction

We Repair ALL brands of computers but ONLY computers. We have been in Royal Oak since 1997 and Ray has been repairing computers since 1976, longer than anyone else in Michigan. We are the people that IT people bring their own units to. Most of our services run between 1-2.5 of billable hours averaging between $97-$160. We also make sure to backup your data to avoid any data loss during the process. If it is not worth fixing we are going to let you know and help you make other arrangements. We treat everyone as if you are my children, and I love my children. If we would tell them to do something that is what we tell you. So consider yourself adopted. Ray loves the techie part I love the people. I get to watch every ones children and grandchildren grow up. I get to meet every ones mom, dad, cousin , neighbor, teacher, lawyer and doctor. People fill me in on their success and I feel for them when sadness happens. We love our jobs and take pride in everything we do. Sadie (12 yrs) is no longer Our youngest employee we have added Sylas (3.5years) he is our greeter and has taken over candy distribution.. Luci (2 years is up and coming). Sadie has been promoted to our marketing and our customer service division.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Most services range between 1.5 hrs - 2.5 hrs of labor. So you are talking between $97.50 - $162.50. If parts are needed I will call you first with a price. If it is not worth fixing, we will be honest with you. We do not sell computers but I help over 500 people a year pick out and buy new ones.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When you come in we have a cart (gurney) to put the computer on. Sadie or I will fill out a form asking you your contact information and a summary of what you are experiencing. It is helpful if you bring in your software, & power cord (laptops). We then let you know that it usually takes between 2-4 business days and if anything is funny we will call. That is it it is easy.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Ray has been doing this since 1976, he helped write some of the MS testing , is an electrical engineer. My background is psychology & the 26 years of working with Ray. I will help you before and after. We will call you about a week later and see if you have any questions.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

This family venture started back in August of 1993 when Ray & Maureen began working together for a In Addition to providing Voicemail for South East Michigan, they fought for fair competition and a Level Playing Field for other Local Phone Carriers and acted as consultants in the writing of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. They were also invited to speak to the State Senate about Competition. Frustrated by the Local Monopoly's refusal to play fair and the acceptance of this practice by the new Phone companies, they realized that the 'Tele' in Telephony meant nothing and 'phony' were the claims & promises made by the Telco's. This was no place for honest people.So Maureen, with management and customer service background and Ray, 100% Tech, having built his 1st computer in the 5th grade, merged their talents and interests into forming Computer Services of Michigan LLC In 1997 they relocated to the fine city of Royal Oak. There they have become the neighborhood Mom & Pop Computer Shop

What types of customers have you worked with?

"The usual" repair is the removal of threats, brought in from the internet. Be it viruses, malware, spyware, ransom ware, hijackers, trojan horses, toolbars, whatever you have accidentally installed that is disrupting the speed and your overall computer experience. When doing this repair We DO NOT LOOSE DATA (pictures, music, documents...). We try to do the repair without setting the unit back to factory settings. If we need to re-install the operating system, we save you data first, then copy your data back to the proper locations. We will install any software provided.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I am mentoring as a coach for the Girls Scouts Lego Club in Oak Park. Assistant Coaching the Berkley Middle school swim team.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Check to see how long a person has been in business, many will do repairs for a short time thinking it is easy then they leave town and we have to help the customers clean up the mess left behind. we have been @ this location now for 19years. We are known as the mom & pop computer repair shop.

Will I loose my information? How long? Do you do a complete job?
