Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is flat and simple. Please read before you request a quote. A routine service call within NYC for a smart device, printer or computer costs either $175 or $200. These service calls usually take 1 hour and include a non-refundable $25 or $50 travel & fuel charge (depending on the location). Service calls that are more complex such as a network design, troubleshoot, optimization or installation, or outside of NYC (i.e. PA, CT, NJ) are $150 per hour plus a $25 per 25 mile RT travel & fuel charge.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
A pre-appointment phone call is preferred. The call will give the customer an opportunity to go into further detail about the issue at hand. If the pre-appointment phone call or message exchange is enough to ascertain the best way forward, a service call will be scheduled to resolve the issue. For more elaborate situations, or if additional parts and equipment are needed, an on-site inspection and evaluation will be scheduled. These appointments usually require multiple visits.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
• 20 years of professional technical experience. • Minor undergraduate degree in Computer Science. • Lifetime apprenticeship under elder technicians, electricians and building supervisors.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My cousin managed the IT department and computer rooms for CUNY City Tech. He would give me older systems when they were no longer in use. When things broke down or there was an issue, he encouraged me to troubleshoot to find a solution. It was reassuring to know that if I screwed things up, he was always there to come to the rescue. That put the battery in my back to take apart, rebuild, and explore without abandon.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Corporate clients, municipalities, boutique operations, mom & pop shops, high-net-worth individuals, large, medium and small businesses, public housing residents and perhaps even your neighbor, co-worker, family member or friend.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Key questions to consider: 1. What is the optimal solution for you? 2. How quickly do you want the situation resolved? 3. How much are you looking to spend? Then, considering all three of the factors above: 4. How comfortable do you feel with the technician providing the quote or service?
